I had a room that overlooked the busy crossroads on the 3rd floor and didn't hear any noise from the traffic - and the view over to the cathedral was marvellous. It has been altered and refurbished since I was there in the late 80s but it's very nice and well done, modern but still keeping its old world charm.My friend was looking forward to trying their pie but the vegetarian pie was a complete letdown unfortunately. The Gate in Stour Street is opened at 12:00 to permit access to chapel for service only during winter closure. Apparently menu is new (April 2023) and the food we had was absolutely and uniformly excellent, good value and service both very efficient and welcoming. The park offers a variety of recreational areas including riverside walks, scenic gardens, a play area for children and a picnic spot, so there's something for everyone to enjoy.
