This version of the classic story uses new words to describe every situation in which the Gingerbread Man finds himself. They put him into the oven, but when they open it the gingerbread man jumps out and runs out the house!

This book is a fun read and it would be ideal to use it when learning about the parts of a story, beginning, middle, and end, characters, plot, summary, setting, etc.The gingerbread turned around, cocked an eyebrow and, still running, shouted: 'Run, run as fast as you can!

With a narrative just made for reading aloud, and delightful watercolor, ink and gouache illustrations, this is without a doubt my favorite retelling of this popular story.
