“I returned to work after almost a year on maternity leave after having my son in 2012 and I immediately knew that it was the wrong thing for me. I decided a career change was needed and began further training in holistic therapies.
I had already qualified in holistic body massage and Hopi ear candling in 2007, and worked as a therapist for a while before becoming diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. From January 2013 I trained in a variety of treatments, including Indian Head Massage, Reflexology, Hot Stone Massage, Aromatherapy, Holistic and Aroma Facials and Pregnancy Massage at the Como Centre for Enlightenment with Gill Moss. This is where I discovered my passion. I also moved into beauty therapy and have qualified in Manicure/Pedicure, Gel Polish Application, Spray Tanning and Waxing.
I now run my own business and I truly believe that being self employed, and doing a job you love, means that you never have to work! You simply follow your hobby … and get paid for it too! I now have the perfect balance – I spend everyday with my son and work evenings when my husband is home. Life really does not get any better than this!
Since becoming qualified as a holistic therapist at the Como Centre, I have gained my PTLLS qualification and am now thrilled to be a part of the Como team as a tutor. This past year has been one of achievement and has opened up so many doors of opportunity to me, and I am excited to be able to open these doors to our students and share my passion with others.”
