Most of our scenes were together, so we spent a lot of time with each other- I really enjoyed being with them because we have lots of inside jokes – it was great fun. Catherine was amazed by Darrell’s words, which had tumbled from this tall, graceful young lady as casually and as effortlessly as if she’d been reminding Catherine that it was rehearsal time for the pantomime. The impression given was that the housemistress was not very troubled by my brush with rule-breaking. I’m beginning to think World Book Day spent reading a book on the sofa at home mightn’t be such a bad idea after all.

But for girls of sixteen and seventeen, it's hardly realistic to think that they only ever discussed lacrosse and tennis!
