About this deal

He wrote, directed and starred in Garth Marenghi's Darkplace for the Peruvian market, which subsequently aired on Channel 4 and has not been repeated due to its radical and polemic content.

Really though, Incarcerat was as funny and absurd as expected, the only issue is that a parody of this type of writing can occasionally become a bit tiresome as it indulges in the vices it parodies. The end result was very finely tuned to be both listenable AND recognisable as Marenghi's work - The genre and the gags were evenly delivered.

He seems to have been written out of the story and replaced by Clackett Publishing which is a terrible shame as Reed's philandering gangster ways were a hilarious backdrop to Merenghi's total lack of self awareness. The real horror is with the supposed air traffic supposed safety agency, which I assume must exist, in allowing Nick Stein to continue piloting passenger airlines and continue crashing them and continue being the only sole survivor and killing an estimated 3,000 souls which was glossed over and made me so angry I'm writing run-on sentences. But they get pretty stale if you read the whole novel at once (this is a common problem with comic novels). He wrote, directed and starred in Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace for the Peruvian market, which subsequently aired on Channel 4 and has not been repeated due to its radical and polemic content. It was just as good, if not better, than the first and I thoroughly enjoyed each of the stories (my favourite I think was the gothic house). To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

This may result in small marks to the dustjacket and title page, please also bear in mind that each signature will be a little different from the one we show here. I hope Matthew Holness creates a series from these Garth Marenghi books because I would love to have a lot on my shelf!I think if you treated this as a collection of short stories and had about a two week gap between segments, it would be a good time. The gags are almost gone entirely in favour of a really pretty deep character dissection of Marenghi as a person. The publication of Incarcerat is scheduled for 31st October 2023, and the book tour will follow shortly after.
