Me: “Wouldn’t it be lovely if something completely unexpected, truly amazing and extremely exciting happened today?”
Head: “Well yes, but depends what it is.”
Me: “Doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it’s completely unexpected, truly amazing and extremely exciting.”
Head: “Well it can’t happen on Thursday because you’re at the Breast Cancer Support Group.”
Me: “Oh yeah.”
Head: “And it can’t be too far away because of family commitments.”
Me: “Well yeah, there is that.”
Head: “And it can’t cost too much because you won’t be able to afford it.”
And then it hit me, like a smack right round the head. Here I was putting restrictions on my completely unexpected, truly amazing and extremely exciting event. And I got to thinking about how many times do we do just that? How many times do we put so many restrictions on what we’ve asked the Universe to deliver that it probably thinks “well sod that, with all these restrictions we cannot possibly deliver what she’s asked for in the first place, so just shove her back on the mundane life pile”.
So the next time you’re asking the Universe for something completely unexpected, truly amazing and extremely exciting, don’t put restrictions in the way of receiving. Allow it to be and trust that the Universe will sort out the details.
