About this deal

Having loved Bombay Sapphire, I’m so disappointed with Bombay Dry. I did not find its wood taste in the least inviting. I love wood, work wood, turn wood, carve wood – no way do I want to drink it!Frank1 Our classic London Dry Gin married with a vibrant, naturally refreshing fruit infusion, capturing the taste of freshly squeezed Mediterranean lemons. Discover the bright, bold citrus notes of sustainably grown Spanish Fino lemons, mandarins and sweet Navel oranges from Murcia. A celebration of nature’s finest flavors. I sometimes feel as this is one of the most consistently excellent classic, London Dry process gins on the market— that goes somewhat unheralded when people ask “what’s the best classic gin.” While less famous than Bombay Sapphire, those looking for something more juniper-forward should look towards Bombay Dry Gin.

Bombay Citron Pressé Lemon Gin, 70cl | Costco UK

Bombay Sapphire’s parent company Bacardi recently launched Grey Goose Essences, in three flavours, for the UK market following a successful roll out in the US, suggesting the rise in fruit-infused spirits is yet to peak. Murcian citrus is particularly special due to the exact region where it is grown. Sitting in a basin between mountain and sea, it is the perfect microclimate for growing citrus that slowly ripens in the winter months for the best-tasting fruit and impactful flavour.”

A creative, natural expression of our original Bombay Dry Gin capturing the bright zest and juice of freshly squeezed Mediterranean lemons. I am incredibly proud of the meticulous processes used to produce Bombay Sapphire Premier Cru from the skilled sourcing and preparation of botanicals to my role in carefully adapting every small batch of gin to bring out the nuances of the late harvest during distillation, amplifying the unique characteristics and finest flavours into a consistent flavour profile every year.” Ivano Tonutti, Bombay Sapphire Master of Botanicals, said: “The Mediterranean lemons are harvested at their perfect ripeness and truly showcase the very best flavours that nature has to offer. By harvesting them early in the season, their lively citrus notes shine through in the gin, delivering a vibrant, sophisticated taste.” I always avoided Bombay Dry because I didn’t like Sapphire. Based on your review, I bought a bottle to replace my Boodles. To me it’s an excellent all purpose gin. Very good in Martinis with a substantial amount of Dolin Dry (3:1, 2:1 and 50/50). This has been my liquor of choice for multiple years. To me, it is much smoother than Beefeaters which is its main competitor in price. Given the price difference between it and the Bombay Sapphire, the taste of Dry and price value makes it preferable to the sapphire.

Bombay Citron Presse | Lemon Flavored Gin | Bombay Sapphire

Natasha Curtin, global vice president for Bombay Sapphire, noted an increase in “ curiosity for authentic and new flavour expressions” among consumers, while tending to favour natural, premium ingredients with no added sugar. The launch of Bombay Citron Pressé – made from natural fruit infusions with no added sugar – follows on from the brand’s previous fruit-forward launch; Bombay Bramble. The botanical blend is rather traditional and unsurprising— it is after all based on what would have been widely and easily available on the British market in the 1760’s. It includes almond, licorice, coriander, lemon, cassia, angelica, orris root and juniper sources from Saxony. Tasting NotesThis is perfectly balanced with the vibrant juniper notes of our classic signature Gin. A real fruits infusion with no added sugar gives a distinct colour and natural flavour. Bombay Dry Gin, similar to its more famous sister Bombay Sapphire, is distilled from a base of grain and imparts the botanicals through vapor infusion. It comes after the launch in March of Bombay Sapphire Sunset, which also featured Spanish citrus alongside turmeric and white cardamom. Bombay Sapphire Premier Cru Murcian Lemon The nose of Bombay Dry Gin is soft. There’s a touch of angelica rounding out then mild juniper with a pine and herbaceous facet. Citrus and a hint of gently piquant cinnamon provide lift. Bombay Sapphire Gin is quite classic with a pleasant roundness and accessible aroma.

Sorry, but all the Bombay gins taste chemical to me. Bombay also gives the worst hangover of any gin. Maybe it’s the vapor infusion?
