About this deal

Above all else, hope is what keeps the characters afloat in the maddening environment that they’re in. Hope that there is a future and a life where they do not have to live in constant fear and danger. Hope that beyond the confines of their community there is a place that is free from the oppressive presence of the Sisterhood. Hope that they can find and nurture love and passion for the people that they truly want to be with and not the people that they settle for because of convenience and circumstance. Hope in a future that is better than present conditions. Sacrifice

I really don't get why these books aren't more popular! These already draw you in by their haunting titles! And don't get me wrong, these are definitely not everyone's cup of tea. They're extremely dark and made me question humanity more than once. But, slowly, Mary’s truths are failing her. She’s learning things she never wanted to know about the Sisterhood and its secrets, and the Guardians and their power. And, when the fence is breached and her world is thrown into chaos, about the Unconsecrated and their relentlessness. This book is very well-written. Fluid and suspenseful, I had a hard time putting it down. While it did have some zombie-slaying action, it wasn't the focus of the book. Instead what kept me going was the sense of mystery and doom. Nothing good ever happens to Mary and the questions just kept coming with little-to-none answers. Mary was an unreliable narrator and a little crazy. All what the reader sees is first filtered through her eyes. She selfishly clung on to her dream of the ocean and refused to settle for anything less, even when it cost her the people she cared about. But hey, she is still one of the few chracters alive at the end, and the only one with a chance at a life, so she must have been doing something right. The rest of the characters wouldv'e gotten eaten long ago if Mary wasn't there to drive them. Carrie Ryan is the New York Times bestselling author of a lot of books. She use to be a lawyer. Happily, she is not anymore. You can keep it that way by reading her books:

That's the thing that's almost a constant in the Zombie genre - is the psychological breakdown of the group. Usually in a zombie group, you'll find the differing personalities and human flaws are what slowly kills the group - not so much the zombies. The last part had a lot of tension, a lot of atmosphere, and even made me cry a little. Some of the characters did things that made no sense given their crappy characterization, but it was still pretty okay. I was surprised how it ended, and actually really appreciated how it subverted some tropes. The Forest of Hands and Teeth will appeal to fans of The Hunger Games or to people looking for a great book that contains romance, fantasy, and horror. I felt hopeless in Annah's place because of all she had to go through, but she was headstrong and never gave up! I admire that about her and I wish I was more like her in that aspect. I probably would've been dead literally 0.5 seconds after the zombie outbreak started lol, I'm just that clumsy. She also literally managed to find love in a hopeless place. ( eat that, Rihanna!)The writing, the world, the characters were all so interesting and haunting, which made you become totally involved in the story from the beginning.
