From Italy With Love: A gorgeous escapist summer read for women!

She sent me a copy of the book she had written about moving to Italy and finding her heart in San Gusme. Loved the characters of Cam and Laurie, but I must admit that Laurie was a bit dense at the beginning of the book with allowing Robert to manipulate her and refusing to see how stale their relationship was. Nicky has an Italian father, grew up in England and now lives in Auckland, New Zealand where she spends a lot of time cooking, eating and riding horses. I passed one year, two years, three, then more, and despite the challenges, I never gave up on the love I came for. Needless to say her boyfriend Robert is not overly impressed with the idea of her travelling with the handsome Cam but that's not the only issue Laurie has to worry about.

It awakened a curiosity and respect for the people and culture of Italy that was truly life-changing. In 2021, her historical fiction novel, The Secrets of Latimer House was a complete departure set during WW2.In To Italy, With Love, she gives us two lead characters who are not happy or satisfied with their life and through their stories find that love, friendship and family are the cornerstones of happiness - along with some great cuisine! Laurie’s under-confident due to a fairly crap life in some ways, and Miles’s will is a carefully thought out plot to get her to realize her full potential.

I used to love this Author’s books and have read many but this book for me was very boring that I didn’t finish it!Two months of darting into cafes advertising panini , hoping to breathe in a few seconds of familiarity.
