About this deal

My wife swore that if she heard me mention this dish one more time, she’d shove it where the sun don’t beam. Nor should we forgo slow-cooked lamb, roast Chinese duck, Keralan pork curry or rich jambalayas, cassoulets and daubes - you'll find recipes for all of these here. Beef carpaccio, spiced venison tartare, cottage pie, roast rib of beef, Lancashire hotpot, lamb cutlets, Cornish pasties and ale pie were among the offerings. The From far-flung shores chapter includes dishes inspired by Tom’s travels, such as ceviche, or Lime marinated prawns with avocado and there's a chapter on Cooking for children too. I doubled the onions and mushrooms and was generous with the hot sauce and mustard, in keeping with my "more = better" stew rule.

A chapter on Comfort Food is packed with family favourites such as My Mum's Roast Chicken and Fish Goujons with Pea Puree. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. I can jabber for England and can be lured anywhere with something pink and sparkly or anything that smells nice. I laughed out loud at Tom’s description of a ‘British’ bolognese, smiled when reading about the movie magic of meatballs, and shook my head when I heard about his week of living on eggs for the Mail on Sunday paper. Let’s Eat is an irresistible hotchpotch of delicious recipes; a trusty cookbook and a very good read. The From far-flung shores chapter includes dishes inspired by Tom’s travels, such as ceviche, or Lime marinated prawns with avocado and there's a chapter on Cooking for children too.

the recipies are easy, affordable and very easy to follow, and he makes me laugh with his great sense of humour. He isn’t shy about promoting suppliers he likes, or other cooks’ books either, so there’s some really useful references tucked into the text. Now, with this deeply scrumptious book, he reveals how talented he is at the first bit: the cooking. Brilliant recipes and with the added hand written notes make this book not only a great read but one of the best cookery books I’ve bought in years.Tom’s strange ideas concerning saturated fat – it would have been nice to see more ‘low fat’ workarounds in some of these recipes. The recommendation to serve it over brown rice was dead on - adds a lovely nuttiness in contrast to the spicy harissa and chilis. Hearty fish goujons, lime-marinated prawns and roast chicken did the rounds all night (why doesn't all party food taste like it came from your mother's kitchen? Despite the fact that I don’t eat meat (and Tom has some amazing meat based dishes here – from grouse to oxtail) I found plenty that I intend to try out for myself: ‘Lemon Risotto’, ‘Hot Buttered Crab’, ‘Trifle’, ‘Shrimp Broth’ etc. Tom claims to have based most of this cook book on a small leather journal he's kept for years of thrice tested recipes, and being as well travelled as he is that makes for an interesting selection - British (Toad in the Hole), Thai, Mexican, Indian, Cantonese, etc.

Tom’s concept of a ‘recipe’ is very broad, so you’ll find everything here from simple ‘Baked Eggs’ (a great empty cupboard recipe he got from his mother) and ‘A Really Good Fish Recipe’ or a more complicated ‘Haddock Parker Bowls’, to recipes for a ‘Hot Toddy’ to ease colds and a ‘Bloody Mary’ for those who prefer a liquid diet. About Hungry Becky I’m a 40 year old mum and I work at home developing and testing recipes for magazines and recipe books, and writing about food and travel. I’ve used this book so many times (triple cooked chips: amazing, griddled lamb with cucumber raita: scrummy…) I completely forgot to review it, so apologies for lateness – it was actually published back in June. There's so many small gems of information in this book, that there's something here to spark everyone's interest, even a reluctant cook's! I was particularly interested in Tom's commentary on the debate about the origin of 'Sticky Toffee Pudding', because coming from Cumbria I had only ever heard the Ulswater version of the story.tireless in pursuit of a good dinner, tom Parker-Bowles has eaten some of the best food in the world - and then recreated his favourite dishes in his own kitchen. In the Less Meat chapter, meat shares the limelight with other ingredients, and in Meat as Seasoning, scraps of beef, lamb, pork and chicken are eked out to give depth to a range of dishes. The author of The Year of Eating Dangerously and E is For Eating, he is the food editor of British Esquire, and has also written for Tatler and a variety of other publications.

This is home cooking at its best - Fish Pie, Shoulder of Lamb with Pommes Boulanger, Noodle Soup, Treacle Tart - all shamelessly indulgent, but straightforward to prepare and affordable. Let’s Eat is the published version, a great, casual cookbook, full of things you’d like to eat, some familiar, others of exotic provenance, a few a potent blend of the two. He is the author of The Year Of Eating Dangerously and E is For Eating, the food editor of British Esquire, and has also written for Tatler and a variety of other publications. However, if cooking is new to you, you'll find lots of basic recipes for things like roast chicken and cauliflower cheese. The author sets a high bar in the introduction, stating that the bulk of the recipes come from a leather-bound notebook into which recipes only go after a minimum of three attempts and the hard-won approval of his spouse.

So, a fantastic, humorous recipe book full of tried and tested (by Tom) favourites from almost every continent on earth.
