The initial lineup consisted of June on guitar, Jean on bass, de Buhr on drums, Barclay on keyboards, and Brandt on lead vocals and percussion. s Fanny Walked The Earth is an 11-track, all-original LP that’s shot through with the same raucous courage and fearlessness as their original works. In a touching moment on stage, Jean Millington cries as her son hits the bass, overwhelmed by the emotion on stage. This lineup signed with Casablanca Records and released the final Fanny album, Rock and Roll Survivors, in 1974. The documentary follows the band’s prime in the 1970s, their eventual downfall, and the heartening reunion of three band members: June Millington, Jean Millington and Brie Howard-Darling.

Available for the first time on vinyl since the album’s initial release, Legacy finds the original 1968 Poco lineup of Richie Furay, Jim Messina, Randy Meisner, George Grantham, and Rusty Young back together. on the Billboard Top 100 Chart , the band had broken up due to a number of reasons, including Nicki stepping away for a solo career. installed the band in a rented mansion formerly owned by Hedy Lamarr, on Marmont Lane near Sunset Boulevard. In 1972, Fanny went on a European tour, where their band name meant something different in British English (read: vagina, pussy, front bottom) and where they were largely welcomed and given more respect than in America. She began performing professionally at fourteen years old with the band, The Kee-Notes, and became a member of the Sacramento Musician's Union in 1964. Undaunted, Bowie later invited them to a party he gave after gigs they were each playing in Liverpool.

The song's music video also garnered a Billboard Music Award for "Video of the Year" which was directed by Brian Lockwood (director). The band resisted suggestions by the record company to dress in a typical girl group style, or emphasise any sex appeal, and rehearsed regularly, wanting to acquire a reputation based on their musical talent. Fast forward 40 or so years to the opening scenes of Hart’s “FANNY: The Right to Rock” in Goshen, MA, at the Institute for the Musical Arts — a nonprofit centered around supporting women and young girls interested in music founded by June Millington and her partner Ann Hackler — where Jean Millington strums on her 1962 precision bass (“it’s pretty much a collector’s item at this point”), June Millington unwraps her guitar from an old pair of pajamas in her case (“I like them to be comfortable”) and Howard-Darling reveals mini-pads are the best drum dampeners around (“pussy power secrets”).
