About this deal

Simulation: Create tools and weapons, construct and extend houses, stables and all manner of buildings as you grow an empire. The different actions like chopping down a tree or building have their own distinct sounds, and you’ll get to listen to them all fairly quickly but they are also good.

A massive medieval open 3D world awaits… Be aware of harsh winters and unexpected events while honing your skills to turn from a medieval survivor into the ruler of a dynasty. From this moment on, you’ve unblocked the ability to start building your first rudimentary tools and buildings and you can develop the necessary skills to survive and continue improving upon your town all by yourself. Much of the game is spent walking between villages, which takes a lot of real time as they are moderately far apart. But watch out for wear and tear because you don't want your pickaxe to become unusable in the middle of nowhere. If you have a lot of free time (50-60 hours seem like a reasonable minimum) and are in no hurry, if you enjoy very complex, immersive games, if you’re willing to overlook numerous bugs and glitches and don’t mind a bland story – Medieval Dynasty is for you. By combining ideas from several other popular franchises, developer Render Cube has managed to create a genuinely unique product.

And with the game additionally giving you the liberty to progress without doing the quests, you may find yourself, like I did, building ahead of your level or trying to figure out complicated mechanics in the hopes they’ll help you have some stability for you to finally do the quests that were meant to teach you said mechanics. You can sometimes get more than what you can handle in Medieval Dynasty, or it can at least feel like it at first when getting started. The only thing that’s lacking is social aspect: Stardew Valley proved how important are neighbors for a farming game, but in Medieval Dynasty they’re just puppets with some basic needs and no actual character. The story is missing synchronization and traveling the vast distances between villages is exhausting because of missing fast travel points.

Subdue nature and use the ever-changing environment to create a monument to yourself and your successors for eternity. Following a PC reflex I did go into the setting to try and play around with the graphic settings, but being on PS5, there wasn’t much I could do to fix that.

If I was across the river from the first town and looking at it, the wall around it would only show partially, on the closest point to myself. Immerse yourself in a beautiful open world with an idyllic day/night cycle, seasons and realistic weather. And while I did manage to get past the other clunkiness in the game and learned to enjoy them for what they are, one thing I could not get past is the way text is displayed when exchanging words with a character. Hunt and cultivate your land, build your home and expand your village into a flourishing medieval town. There are 25+ different types of buildings with different levels waiting to be built, expanded and decorated by you, from sheds and simple huts to high-end stone houses that resist the ravages of time. different buildings with various levels from hay shacks to full stone mansions; over 60 pieces of equipment to craft, including weapons, tools, furniture and clothing.
