About this deal

The purpose of this TekSpek is to delineate the publicly known features of Intel’s next generation desktop microarchitecture. Unfortunately, mainboard manufacturers tend to change certain components and heatsinks without pointing it out by using corresponding revision names. The bottom line is that Core 2 is the name of Intel’s latest line of CPUs, based on a new micro-architecture, designed for speed and efficiency. Complying with the open SecuFirm™ standard, the cooler can be made compatible with the older LGA1366 and LGA775 sockets using the optional NM-I3 mounting kit, which is provided by Noctua free of charge. My case (Antec Fusion Black HTPC case) being very low, I used the fan below and it works very well paired with my i7 4790K.

The NH-C14 brings top-flow cooling to a new level by offering an exquisite, uniquely flexible 140mm dual fan setup: The two supplied NF-P14 premium fans can be installed on top and underneath the fin-stack to configure the cooler for maximum performance in dual fan mode and either lower profile (105mm) or maximum component clearance in single fan modes. The appealing fin stack of NH-C14S is cooled by a 140mm fan, so it would be a good idea to check it as well. What is unique about this cooler is the fact that regardless of where you install it (top or bottom) it will immensely provide air to all of the heat sensitive components around the CPU socket and especially the VRMs.

The NH-C14S is constructed with a copper base, heatpipes, aluminum fins, soldered joints and nickel plating and weighs 820 g without the fan and 1015 g with one fan installed.

wattHamster - Wednesday, January 18, 2017 - link A 6600K with an overclock definitely pushes a C7 pretty hard. At the very least this would help us determine whether you have some uneven contact between IHS and HSF.

The NH-C14S is the successor to the NH-C14 which is a top-flow design cooler that is designed to be compatible with mini-ITX and micro-ATX motherboards.

The cooler only works well when put in a system where the case exhaust runs parallel to the fans on the C14S. The purpose This TekSpek quickly and easily explains AMD’s new processor socket and related technology to the reader, comparing it to AMD’s previous socket types. There is no lack of technical details and specifications, so you can spend 5 minutes reading them, but I am keen on getting that big box opened and check out the “ingredients”. Topped off with the trusted, pro-grade SecuFirm2™ multi-socket mounting system, Noctua’s proven NT-H1 thermal compound and full 6 years manufacturer’s warranty, the NH-C14S is a premium quality top-flow solution for the highest demands.Complying with the open SecuFirm standard, the NH-C14S can be made compatible with the older LGA1366 and LGA775 sockets using the optional NM-I3 mounting kit, which is provided by Noctua free of charge. For both it is top-down coolers especially recommend accordingly if high cooling capacity to be connected to low height, or a particularly strong ventilation on the side panel is available.

High Clearance Mode – Run with the NF-A14 fan installed on top, the NH-C14S provides extended clearance underneath the fin stack. Thus, for system longevity and stability, ensuring that these components are kept cool is vital – I’ve personally killed a couple of quality motherboards by overheating parts! Testing is carried out on BC1 Mini v2 (open testbench), using the following hardware, in 20°C ambient room temperature.Well, most AMD motherboards already include a backplate, most likely due to the non-square mounting pattern. Significant share of success have the high-end fan proprietary who come to the coolers for use and have become with their unusual colors and the high recognition value related to optical trademarks.
