Rock Rose

Rock RoseRock Rose (Cistaceae) is also known as the Liberation Flower – from panic to heroic courage.

“The remedy of emergency for cases where there even appears no hope. In accident or sudden illness, or when the patient is very frightened or terrified, or if the condition is serious enough to cause great fear to those around.

If the patient is not conscious the lips may be moistened with the remedy.  Other remedies in addition may also be required, as, for example, if there is unconsciousness, which is a deep, sleepy state, Clematis, if there is torture, Agrimony and so on.” Edward Bach

Rock Rose relates to the soul’s qualities of courage and steadfastness.  Within the negative Rock Rose state, Bach perceived the strongest fear a human can experience.  Therefore, this flower is one of the most important components of Rescue Remedy.

An acute Rock Rose state is under threat mentally and often physically, as well.  These are moments of crises, exceptional situations such as accidents, sudden illness and natural disasters, when a human being is unable to cope with the onrush of elemental energies.

Some of the characteristics to be aware of:

  • You tend to panic easily
  • Your nerves are weak, you overreact and often feel helpless
  • Your anxiety level quickly escalates in threatening situations
  • You feel terror, horror, and naked fear, as though your nerves have gone haywire
  • When in a panic your senses stop working, you’re unable to see, hear or speak, your heart nearly stops
  • You panic in accidents and natural disasters, or if you experience a life-threatening illness or disease
  • You can still feel the fear in your bones after barely escaping a dangerous situation
  • Children easily get sweaty palms, and their hearts often beat wildly
  • Your solar plexus hurts or feels rock hard

Even if only one of two of these patterns precisely match your present situation, you need Rock Rose.

The positive potential of taking this remedy includes meeting emergencies with a calm presence of mind and are able to do things for the benefit of others. In serious crises you rely consciously on your inner guidance. In crises situations you are able to mobilise tremendous forces that allow you to do more than you are normally capable of doing.

Empowering statements

  • I will survive
  • I keep things in perspective
  • I follow my inner guidance
