Willow

WillowWillow (Salix) is also known as the Destiny Flower – from resenting fate to taking personal responsibility.

For those who have suffered adversity or misfortune and find these difficult to accept, without complaint or resentment, as they judge life much by the success which it brings.  They feel that they have not deserved so great a trial, that it was unjust and they become embittered. They often take less interest and are less active in those things of life which they had previously enjoyed.” Edward Bach

Willow relates to the soul’s potential to take full responsibility for yourself. If you’re in the negative Willow state you’ll blame everyone and everything but yourself and have a negative attitude most of the time. On negative Willow days you rail at your fate, resenting the treatment you receive.  You are unable to understand how others can be so cheerful and carefree.  You begrudge them their good fortune and feel tempted to spoil their good mood.  All of us have days like this, when we don’t feel at all comfortable with ourselves.  These are representative of the temporary negative Willow state.

Some of the characteristics to be aware of include:

  • You feel like you are being held back or that there is no hope of being delivered from a situation
  • You experience yourself as powerless
  • You have an embittered attitude, resenting fate and feeling that you’ve been treated unjustly in life
  • You don’t feel responsible for your own situation, and are always blaming circumstances or others
  • You don’t think fate recognised your efforts and input in life
  • You believe life has failed to provide the things that you rightfully deserve
  • You make demands on fate, but are not prepared to do anything for them
  • You accept help from others and take it for granted
  • You react defensively and with accusations, often appearing as a killjoy or a spoilsport
  • You unconsciously try to put a damper on the cheerful mood and optimism of others
  • You wear a sad, pouting face as you feel offended and withdraw more and more from life
  • Your thoughts are spiteful and grudging due to the bitterness you feel in your heart
  • Unspoken, smouldering anger rages inside but will not explode
  • You’re unable to accept your extreme negativity so nothing can change
  • You are reluctant to admit that you’re getting better when you are recovering from an illness, even if it’s clear that you are

Even if only one of two of these patterns precisely match your present situation, you need Willow.

The positive potential for taking this remedy return you to actively take your life into your own hands. You think constructively and know how to exert a positive influence on situations. You take responsibility for your own fate. You understand the principle “as within, so without” which means that you can attract positive or negative events, and you make conscious use of this principle.

Empowering statements

  • I’m in control
  • I take responsibility
