The Jot a Dot braille notetaker is a lightweight and portable device, similar to a typewriter. It has six keys (one for each dot in the braille cell), which punch the braille paper. Spaces are created by pinching the two halves of the machine together. Your left hand holds the top of the phone. Your right hand holds the bottom of the phone, where the USB port is. Note taking

Some hand-held magnifiers are fitted with a built-in battery powered lamp or LED to improve lighting and enhance the text. In tabletop mode, you can type on flat surfaces. When your device detects a flat surface, it transitions out of screen-away mode and into tabletop mode. This mode might be useful if you’re familiar with or prefer to type with a Perkins Braillewriter.
