We were born with the ability to laugh and as children we did so easily and readily. However, with the stresses and strains of adult life, we sometimes lose the spontaneity of laughter – can you remember the last time you had a really good uncontrollable belly laugh?
As medical science begins to recognise the link between the mind, body and spirit so we recognise that therapies such as laughter can have a profound effect on our health and well-being. Laughter therapy is effective against just about all health issues.
When an emotional reaction occurs in the brain, it triggers an emotional reaction in the body. This, in turn, triggers an immune response and the body starts its healing process or maintains its well-being.
Join us for 6-weeks of Laughter Sessions where we will explore laughter and humour, reactions in the body, effects on our health and well-being, reasons why we need to laugh, and much more. We will look a little at the background to laughter therapy and will do lots of practical sessions.
Above all we will laugh – a lot!
Each 6-week block will be limited to just 10 participants so don’t leave it too late to book your place.
Date: Wednesday 25 October 2017 for 6-weeks
Course Facilitators: Elaine Collier & Gill Moss
