About this deal

In the mid-range, daily trainer category, most of the brands have come to the party this year. The Nike Pegasus, Saucony Ride, and Skechers Ride have all been excellent with the Skechers Ride 10 being the standout performer for me so far. The foam is a little firmer than last year so it feels a bit more efficient than the Ghost 14. It also doesn’t feel as comfortable on long runs because the ride is less plush, however it’s still an excellent long, slow-run shoe because of how much cushioning it has. The item that you wish to Price Match is identical to the one available on Up & Running and ALL the following apply: the same season/model, colour, size, width and specification. If you’re impressed with this men’s and women’s Brooks Ghost 15 collection, you may want to browse our even wider Brooks footwear range where you’ll find a selection of Ghost 14 running shoes, as well as Brooks Glycerin, Brooks Launch, and Brooks Ravenna. You’ll also find footwear from other popular sportswear brands in our range, including adidas, Puma, and Mizuno running shoes.

From time to time carriers may deliver earlier or later, or on non working days however this is cannot be guaranteed nor should it be expected. The Ghost 15 will probably remain one of the most popular shoes available by virtue of its high level of step-in comfort and deserved reputation for reliability, and if you’re an existing fan of the line the new shoe will suit you well. For me, however, there are simply better options out there that make use of the advances in midsole materials in particular to create more enjoyable and versatile shoes. Brooks Ghost 15 vs Brooks Ghost 14 You can entirely rely on the new structure and build as with the previous models regarding durability. If you wish to claim for a discount under the Price Match Guarantee, you need to ensure the following criteria are met:I wouldn’t say that the Ghost 15 is an improvement over the Ghost 14. I actually prefer the 14 because it had a softer ride which felt better on easy runs. The Ghost 15 also weighs more and costs more than the 14. Brooks Ghost 15 is a good choice for the neutral runner who likes a comfortable, flexible training shoe that provides soft responsive cushioning whatever the mileage. The Ghost 15 is a great daily trainer that provides an excellent ride with firm yet spongy cushioning. I really loved the ride and it outperformed recent versions of both the Asics Kayano and GT-2000 in this regard. While both of those shoes have more cushioning, there was a more evenness of the cushioning throughout the Ghost. I ran mostly on roads and gravel paths and the shoe performed well on both surfaces. I wouldn’t use this shoe for speedwork; most of my runs in the Ghost were daily miles between 7:00 and 7:15 pace.”

To confuse matters, this is not the nitrogen-infused DNA Loft v3 foam used on the Brooks Glycerin 20, another very popular shoe line. DNA Loft v2 in the Ghost 15 provides a very cushioned, medium-soft ride which is padded but not at all bouncy. The dense foam doesn’t compress very much so there isn’t much rebound compared to some of the other midsole foams on the market. This characteristic makes the Ghost 15 not suited to tempo runs when you are trying to run fast. The ride of the Ghost 15 is perhaps the most traditional of all the daily trainers. It’s not a shoe that I get excited to run in because it doesn’t have an exciting ride. It has a very simplistic, no-frills ride which gets the job done, comfortably. The new DNA LOFT 2 midsole delivers lightweight and soft cushioning for luxurious step in comfort. It also absorbs the impact from running on hard surfaces. Built with a 12mm heel drop, this shoe is ideal for any type of foot strike including heavy heel striking. The Ghost has an extremely supportive ride due to how little its midsole compresses so even slight overpronators will find the Ghost 15 stable enough. Of all the daily trainers, the Ghost is probably the most stable.

Ghost 15 features 8.8% more recycled materials than its predecessor. Upper textile in made 91.9% of recycled or bio-materials (upper in Ghost 14 was made 63.4% from recycled or bio materials). On paper the Brooks Ghost 15 seems a substantial update on the Brooks Ghost 14, the brand having changed the midsole material to a new version of its DNA Loft v2. Brooks says the foam on the Ghost 15 is lighter, softer and less dense than the one used on the Ghost 14, all of which sounds great. However, in practice I didn’t really feel much difference in the ride, and the Ghost 15 weighs a very similar amount to the Ghost 14 and has the same 12mm drop. In the upper, a newly engineered mesh has targeted stretch zones for areas that need to be able to expand and areas where the foot needs more structure. 3D Fit Print overlays give unintrusive structure for an impeccable fit. The Midsole of the Brooks Ghost 16 remains the trusted BioMoGo DNA, this time with more plush comfort and cushioning. Though more cushioned and airier than the Ghost 14, the Ghost 15 is no match against Brooks’s Glycerin when it comes to softness. This is because of different midsoles. The Glycerin 20 and Glycerin GTS 20 have a nitrogen-infused foam (DNA Loft v3), which was used in 2021’s limited edition Aurora-BL. Several testers noted a welcome improvement would be a more cushioned forefoot.

Run Happy in NZ

I was hoping the Ghost 15 would be lighter, but at 10.4oz/297g in my UK 9 it’s a very similar weight to the Ghost 14, so any improvements in the ride would need to come from the updated midsole. How I Tested This Shoe The Brooks Ghost 15 women’s and men’s ranges above are ideal for a wide variety of runners, whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned jogger. Ideal for road running, the pairs in this collection come with an updated midsole with increased cushioning to create an even smoother and more comfortable workout. The Brooks Ghost 15 also comes with 3D Fit Print, allowing the shoe to be shaped by your foot to ensure the best fit possible. Overall the two shoes performed the same role equally well for me during my testing, and both will work fine as a workhorse daily trainer with a higher drop than most shoes on the market. I’d look to snag a deal on the older Ghost 14 if you can, since it’s more likely to be in sales than the newer shoe and is equally good.
