About this deal

In the hour-long special My Little Pony: Make Your Mark, Pipp takes part in preparations for Maretime Bay Day by writing a new anthem for the holiday. When Zipp believes something is wrong with magic, Pipp initially believes she is worrying over nothing. When Zipp is proven right, Pipp and her friends work to fix things by easing the tensions between the three pony races. During the festival, the debut of Pipp's new song is interrupted by Earth pony protest, causing magic to go haywire. After the crisis is resolved, Pipp invites the repentant Posey to sing the new song with her. In the Chapter 1 special, Zipp notices that magic sometimes glitches out, and attempts to find the source of the problem. In the earth pony town of Maretime Bay, Argyle Starshine teaches his daughter Sunny Starscout about tales of old Equestria when earth ponies, pegasi and unicorns lived in harmony. Although most earth ponies dismiss these ideas as myths and now live in fear of the other races, Sunny hopes that all races can make amends and live in harmony. It features the voices of Vanessa Hudgens, Kimiko Glenn, James Marsden, Sofia Carson and Liza Koshy. A New Generation is set many years after the events of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, in a magic-less era where the story of Twilight Sparkle and her friends is considered a myth, and the three pony kinds – earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns – have grown apart, living separated from one another in paranoia and prejudice. [4] The film follows Sunny Starscout, an earth pony who, after meeting the unicorn Izzy Moonbow, embarks on a quest to reunite all pony kinds and restore magic to the land. [5]

When she brought Sparky to Opaline in Chapter 4 - Missing the Mark, she felt guilty about what she'd done and went to get the Mane Five, however, she unknowingly lead them into a trap - which Opaline traps them in a magic cancellation bubble and Opaline revealed to them about Misty working with her all along which made them all upset and angry with her and leaving Misty at a crossroads about what to do next. In the end, she chose to help her friends since they showed her kindness, the kindness she deserved and treated her like a friend than a tool like Opaline does. As of Chapter 4, Misty finally received a cutie mark as reward for freeing the Mane Five; a butterfly with its body being colored in a coral-pink, with its dark purple and magenta-pink wings having magenta and coral-pink spots. To match her cutie mark, Misty also had her mane and tail dyed to a gradient of two-tone purple and hot-pink, with noticeable tips of coral-orange. Along with her new appearance, she now wears a friendship bracelet on her left hoof that Izzy made for her, which has the Mane Five's cutie marks printed on its pendants. She is scared of Opaline when she snaps at her and calls her insults such as 'nothing' and 'useless'. Misty has some cunning attributes, like being able to infiltrate Maretime Bay multiple times; and even lured Pipp and Zipp into a huge cave and trapped them there (of only temporarily). But Misty seems to be happier when in the presence of Sunny and her friends, but with being around the evil pony, she appears very nervous and quiet. Courtney Howard from Variety gave the film a mostly positive review. She praised the film for "[retaining] its predecessors' lively, spirited drive centered on friendship, empowerment and magic," though was critical of some plot aspects. [10] Beatrice Loayza of The New York Times gave an overall mixed review of the film, mainly criticizing the switch from traditional animation to "creepily-anthropomorphized, digitally-animated brethren"; she compared some plot points to Raya and the Last Dragon, which was released earlier in the year. But overall, Loayza said, "...the film's messaging about unity and the need for a new generation to band together against misinformation and rabble rousing isn't the worst thing." [37] Zipp acts as part of the collective for a time, traveling to Izzy's cottage and getting a Unicorn disguise. She is initially hesitant at the idea of a makeover, but goes along with the plan. In Bridlewood, Zipp's response to Izzy's crystal antics is to ask if she's aware they only need one crystal. She also later asks for context on the "Bing Bong" ritual. She acts as part of the collective once again after this.

Once the crystals work together and restore magic despite the failure, he looks at the Unicorns and Pegasi in awe. Hitch tells Sunny she did it, to which she points out that they all did it together. Hitch appears in Chapter one of the series, as things seem to go normally in Maretime Bay, he discovers a white egg, with purple-ish spots surrounding it. He later brings it with him and discovers its a green baby dragon with bat-like wings. He names the dragon Sparky Sparkeroni. In Cutie Blossom Bash, Zipp and her friends bing Misty to Zephyr Heights to celebrate her getting her cutie mark, sharing how she got her own cutie mark along the way. She and Hitch work together to try to ensure the ceremony goes well, and she and her friends give Misty a private ceremony when she admits she doesn't like being the center of attention.

In A Little Horse, Pipp falls ill just before a social media collaboration and struggles with staying in bed and resting. With her friends' help, she recovers enough to perform the collaboration from the Brighthouse. In Missing the Mark, Pipp and her friends discover Sparky once again missing. Misty leads them to Opaline's castle, where Opaline captures them and reveals that Misty is working for her. After Misty has a change of heart and frees them, Pipp and the others lend their cutie mark magic to Sunny, allowing her to overcome Opaline. Zipp has a strong sense of justice, and encourages ponies to be true to themselves, exemplified by her reluctance to keep up the charade that the royal family can fly in My Little Pony: A New Generation. An athletic pony, Zipp is rebellious and full of attitude. However, she has also been stated to have a passion for science, revealing a more traditionally intellectual side to her personality. [3] Being curious and inquisitive lends well to her job as detective of Maretime Bay.

Izzy and Sunny both sing " I'm Lookin' Out For You" (strengthening their bond) as they travel to a canyon outside of Zephyr Heights. In the canyon, Izzy tells Sunny her "Sparkle" is lavender. They are both frightened by an unidentified (later revealed to be Zipp) pony darting about. After Zipp introduces herself and leaves, asking them to be quiet about the encounter, Izzy and Sunny are captured by the royal guards. Izzy's horn is capped with a tennis ball to protect the other ponies. In Issue #16, Zipp argues with Zipp over whose responsibilities are hardest, which leads to a nymph named Milkyway switching the sisters' lives (unbeknownst to Zipp). In Issue #17, Zipp learns that Pipp inadvertantly caused Milkyway to switch them, and together with their friends, they seek out Milkyway in hopes of getting her to reverse what they did. Milkyway refuses, saying that the magic can only be undone once Zipp understand the pressures of Pipp's pop star life. Zipp eventually convinces Pipp to go along with this, taking on Pipp's royal as a pop star while Pipp gives her royal duties a try. In Issue #18, Zipp attempts to deal with the musician Carotang badmouthing her, but is manipulated into making herself look even worse to her fans. A CGI-animated Christmas-themed special, My Little Pony: Winter Wishday, premiered on November 21, 2022, on Netflix, tied to the Make Your Mark series. [53]
