About this deal
If you value your retina, please don’t do this with a DSLR and look through the viewfinder at the same time. SIGMA lenses with “DN” in the name are designed for optimal performance on cameras with a short flange back distance. Sigma now have a new offering in their expanding range of CSC lenses for Micro Four Thirds (MFT) and Sony E APS-C format cameras.

This would also be an excellent lens for street photography, landscapes and architecture, although it is always possible to use lenses outside their normal, accepted applications, sometimes to very good effect. Axial CA is often “fixed” by stopping the lens down to smaller apertures, as the depth of field increases and there is less variance between the focus of the colors. Sigma offers it in Sony E and Canon EF-M mounts, as well as for the smaller Micro Four Thirds format and can convert the mount at a later date for a fee. Unlike most of Fujifilm’s lenses, there’s no aperture ring, so to change this setting you have to use a dial on the camera body. The hood also features a rubber construction and a non-slip groove to make it easy to hold in a variety of shooting situations. This is, by a good margin, the largest lens in the DN series, but it is still a relatively compact lens by normal standards. However, most photographers are not, and generally, cameras aren’t used on a wind-swept beach being sprayed with seawater, as I tend to use them.

A plastic lens hood is included, which has a petal shape to account for the wide-angle field of view. This lens effectively minimizes optical aberrations and offers superb resolution at wide-open aperture and throughout the aperture range.
