About this deal

And what an excellent PVR it is. There are lots of nice touches, such as being able to set global record padding, to prevent you missing the beginning or end of something and customisable time skipping so you don't have to watch the ad's. You can also create folders to prevent your recordings from getting cluttered on-screen and picture quality is also top-notch. Through the Humax TV Portal you can directly access BBC iPlayer to catch up on those programmes that you might have missed. Looking for additional entertainment then watch YouTube or listen to internet radio, additional apps are also available to enhance your viewing pleasure.

It's nothing to do with Humax or any other makers, it's purely down to the limitations of the EDID data exchange between different makers destination devices. In both cases the destination and source exchange data (EDID) to identify what the destination supports. The HDR-2000T's twin tuners allow two channels to be recorded at once but a nice bonus is that you can also watch and timeshift a third channel at the same time. The timeshift buffer lasts up to two hours. New TV Guide Surf & Scan Banner When watching TV press, the ‘OK’ button a banner appears at the bottom of the screen displaying programme information. Press either the up or down arrows around the OK button to scroll up and down the channel list displayed on the left hand side of the screen, if you then press ‘OK’ again the programme synopsis will be displayed in a larger pop up panel. This provides the option to record the programme or series or set a reminder! My Humax 2000T Freeview has been reliable but today nothing happens when I press the stand-by button on the remote or that on top of the box. The Remote has new batteries and the power supply delivers 12V. When I use the aerial pass through I get no signal at the TV but the aerial connected direct to the TV is fine so I presume the internal psu may be faulty. My Humax HDR-2000T is 9 years old. Recently some buttons on the remote have become unreliable and I was thinking of just replacing that but the PVR itself is also starting to become a bit temperamental. It occasionally throws up a blank green screen which can only be cleared by cycling the power, which is a faff because of it's location. The other day I was scrolling through the recorded material and it suddenly froze and wouldn't respond to any remote buttons. The remote seemed to be transmitting as it's PVR button was flashing. Again a power cycle cleared it but it has made me think it's time to replace the whole machine. Please would you confirm he model? The Humax HDR-2000T does not have a button on top of the box. The on/off touch area is located on the front of the HDR-2000T.

Interesting result, though as you know with my device it happens with power saving set to off. We do have very good signal, 100% quality with strength around 85%. With power saving in standby set to 'OFF', loop through to the TV remains totally in tact. Neither of the USB ports become active. Even when the recording starts the USB ports remain inactive. Under these circumstances the only way to activate the USB ports is to toggle the 2000T on and then off again, and the USB ports will then remain active until the recording has finished, providing there is not another recording due to start in the subsequent 40 minutes. Of course, it does all the stuff you would expect, too, and setting recordings, whether single or series, really is the proverbial child's play and the interface is always on hand should you run into recording clashes or forget (how could you?) that something was available in HD.I then ran the test for the third time, still using the new HDMI lead but connected via the Neet HDMI hub. Sure enough 15 minutes before record time, same as happened originally i.e. momentary total signal loss. Pause live TV to answer the door or make a cup of coffee then return to where you left off. No more missing that vital moment or dialogue. With the 500GB hard drive you can record and store up to 125 hours in HD of your favourite programmes. If you want to send digital audio to a device that is likely to universally understand the codec used to compress the audio, you should use a proper AV receiver, not a TV. Possibly the best feature built in to the 2000-T is its capability to stream recordings from off its HDD to other devices boasting DLNA compatibility. In effect, if you have something that fits the bill situated in another room, it gives you a two-for-one PVR.
