About this deal
Additionally, Hunter's Moon—Khonshu's other avatar—became a convert of the Midnight Mission following a confrontation with Moon Knight. Gravely wounded in his showdown with Black Spectre, Moon Knight managed to stop the resonator from proceeding as planned. In its first official act, he protected a group of recently turned vampires who were preyed upon by a rampant coven in Manhattan.
When gangs of elderly residents leave a trail of bizarre violence, Moon Knight must put his body, mind and very soul on the line to end the carnage!
It’s not clear why Moon Knight sometimes appears interchangeably as Mr Knight and Moon Knight either. The way they absolutely hate each other but have to work together and tolerate each other is perfection.
Together, they form a small army composed of the souls of former avatars of Khonshu, who join forces with Marc Spector in battle. Zodiac dispatched Hunter's Moon to attack the Mission, and the vengeful antihero nearly killed Reese and the other vampires seeking refuge there until Moon Knight drove his rival away. He also builds him an interesting supporting cast, complete with a new villain and a character who can best be described as a rival. Not to expose myself but I rewatch the Moon Knight show almost every week (not kidding at all, I'm really down bad for him) and this is so different from that and yet they are both so good. Mackay is fast becoming a name for me to watch at Marvel - his Moon Knight already looks set to stand next to his Black Cat as one of my favourite Marvel titles in recent years.Jed Mackay evidently didn't get that note, because his characterisation of Moon Knight and his various personalities seems almost effortless. The story is pretty action oriented, though I think Marc Spector’s inner turmoil tends to be overstated.
