Ask pupils to look at the photograph and then answer the questions. This reveals more about the event and its significance. This source can also be used to emphasise the importance of different archives and collections for historians . A snap or two is fine, but do bear in mind that these are people’s homes before you start hanging off the doors and rampaging around in pursuit of the perfect (but in all honesty, cookie cutter) photo.
