About this deal

It was an ordeal, it was arduous, it was exhausting. There actually seem to be more perfume-mad people out there than you can imagine. The new scent of Mont Blanc simply did not want to be tested by me. No matter where I was - Karstadt, Douglas, Galeria Kaufhof - everywhere the testers were empty. The hype of the fragrance as the Aventus clone par excellence seems to be actually going around. But now finally to the Explorer. The similarity to Aventus is clearly given, but not completely cribbed. Especially the Ambroxan sweetness at the end is clearly different.

Performance is also very decent. Projection is very good in the beginning, before it fades away very close and softly woody. Durability is about 8 hours for me In reality, however, things look different. Most people don't care about the rarity or the uniqueness of a fragrance, but just want to smell good for half a day and Explorer is perfect for that. The smell is torn mainly as Dupe and has in my opinion a worse reputation, which does not do justice to it in any way so. This room-filling citrus bomb has to be endured first and keeps itself unbelievable 2 hours flattening, but nicely fresh. In the break room full of colleagues 22,26,38 and 2 sprayed on my 50 years approaching my work slip, he found in all noses favor and I seemed to be the only one who thought that someone had just peeled a Pomelo. In my opinion, the fragrance can be worn by any man from about 25 years of age (I find it too adult for younger men). Besides to the sport it can be worn to any occasion.

Aventus had therefore "failed" with me. The same was also the case with Zwilingsdüften or Dupes with me the case. With four sprayers I have a good Sillage of three to four hours. Here I also noticed that the scent in the cloud smells even better than directly on the skin. Montblanc wants to make its Explorer Eau de Parfum an ode to adventure. The fragrance evokes the window opened in a train wagon or a tent planted in the mountains. The German brand has thus drawn on its exotic and contrasting scents from all the continents: Now to the Explorer: I have already tested several scents that are supposed to be clones of Aventus. This one can definitely be counted as a twin. But if you are looking for the best replica, I think you will find it at the Armaf. Also the Al Haramain is probably even closer. In my opinion this Explorer is more in the casual direction. The first hour with the top note is still a lot of Aventus style, but it drifts off and has a lot of independence. A high dose of Ambroxan is also active here. A lighter scent that can be worn as a casual scent without any problems and it also comes into its own when doing sports. As well known as the DNA here is, I have never smelled it on anyone in my environment. That's why I'm really happy about the release. But I'm especially happy because the smoky Explorer has been reduced to a minimum, so that it doesn't bother my sensitive nose. What remains is this interesting note, which was also always so great with the aventus. For laymen, however, the difference is difficult to smell, especially the top note. If you are keen on the compliments of Aventus, you will get them with this one from the fragrance laymen. As an expert one must of course say: Aventus looks a little more high-class and is also better suited for more noble outfits. But those who want to hang out or smell good for the studio will also be happy with this one. Does this difference in quality now justify the almost tenfold? There's probably a lot of placebo in it, too.
