Start by cutting a ‘V’ shape from the bottom of your paper plate to make the main part of Narwhal’s body, keep the two small parts of paper plate that you’ve just cut off as you will need these for the next step. Jelly is super easy to make – you’ll need another paper plate for him, some blue paint, blue paper or card, glue and a black pen.

These Narwhal and Jelly paper plate crafts are super easy to make so after your kids have had fun reading the books they’ll be able to have lots of fun making their own super duo.When we got these books I read the first book ( Narwhal: Unicorn of the Sea) to both my kids as a bedtime story and then I discovered my son (8) reading Super Narwhal and Jelly Jolt to my daughter who is 5. I am not sure why I went straight to 4 stars, but I think it comes down to that it is unique and funny! Once the paint is dry cut your blue paper into strips and glue these onto the bottom of the paper plate to make Jelly’s tentacles. In the first story, Narwhal reveals his superhero alter-ego and enlists Jelly to help him figure out what his superpower is. In one of the mini tales, Narwhal invites a variety of creatures to join his pod but is oblivious to Jelly’s increasing annoyance at feeling excluded from the group.

I never read the first Narwhal and Jelly book, only karen's review (and subsequent reviews, as well, but hers was the first) so I feel like I've got a solid grasp on these adorable characters.
