About this deal

The OpenMove are equipped with Bluetooth 5.0, and we had no issues connecting our phone and maintaining an uninterrupted signal (even near a major railway station where some wireless headphones tend to suffer from Bluetooth interference). One of our biggest gripes about the Trekz Air has to be its short battery life. Yes, we realise that it's lightweight design is to blame, and we're loathe to criticise that, but just six hours does put them in the dreaded 'day use' category. The new Air is everything you love about Titanium, but with advanced features and improvements. Not only is the new design 20% lighter, it contains a full titanium wraparound band for better durability, new antenna for stronger Bluetooth ® connectivity, enhanced dual noise-cancelling mics for crystal-clear calls, improved LeakSlayer ™ technology for a more private listening experience, and redesigned transducers that deliver high-quality PremiumPitch+ sound with more bass tones. or having a phone conversation through the headphone. That openness allows runners and bikers to hear traffic, an important safety feature. Also, some race coordinators don't allow you to wear anything in your ears, which is where a headphone like the Although the Air does feel perceptibly lighter than the Titanium, it felt less adjustable. When wearing either of the headphones for longer than two or three hours continuously, some users will want to occasionally shift the pressure point of the headset to minimize irritation. I found a greater range of positions in which the Titanium could be successfully used, which in turn made it a better choice for long-term comfort than the Air model. Paired with the quieter volume adjustment beep, that made the Titanium the better choice for me.

All of our headphones come with a user guide, but sometimes those little booklets can be misplaced or thrown away. Not to worry! There’s still plenty of ways you can learn how to pair your Aeropex or mute the mic on your Air. That completes the multipoint pairing process! With a little help from Bluetooth technology, your headphones should now be connected to two of your devices simultaneously the next time you turn them on. The Air and the Titanium are also helpful with home school craziness—my wife can listen for questions and/or shenanigans from kids while podcasting, audiobooking, or taking calls, and my daughter finds them significantly better for class interviews and required multimedia consumption than the traditional headsets all three kids already had. The GoodFully charges in an hour and a half, but a 15-minute charge provides enough boost to "get you through a long workout or marathon call" Enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the power/volume+ button for 5-7 seconds. Audrey will say “Welcome to Titanium! (or Aeropex, or Air)" and then “pairing” and the LED light will then flash red and blue.

They might be a unique proposition, but the Trekz Air are no heavyweight; they weigh a mere 30g. However, the soft silicon covering together with the careful positioning of the electronics means that the Trekz Air tend to stay in one place, however active. In fact, they barely move whatever it is you're doing. I found the immersion of the headphones to be fantastic. As the headphones sit around your ears, the sound is also coming in from around your ears, not from within your ears, so the stereo listening experience is quite fantastic as it sounds like the music is around you. I found the volume to be good for my use-case, listening at around 50-60% although I could see the possibility of some users wanting a little more headroom if they are in a noisy environment. In your second device’s Bluetooth settings, select the Titanium (or whatever model you're using). Audrey will say "Connected" or “Device 2 Connected.” They are charged via USB-C . This is a welcome change from older headsets’ micro-USB charging, as it means you don’t need to carry separate cables for your phone and headset. Audio quality When you think of headphones for sports and exercise, maybe you think of a lightweight pair of headphones or some sport-focused earbuds with over-ear hooks such as Powerbeats Pro . But what about bone conduction headphones? The AfterShokz Trekz Air is a very likable sports headphone, particularly for people who want a secure fitting headphone that doesn't cover or prod their ears. Set-up was easy, with a female voice called Audrey confirming that the Bluetooth pairing process with a phone had worked. Thanks, Audrey.

OpenFit design allows you to tune in to your music or a call without tuning out the world around you Further Reading Headphones without headphones: We test Lucyd Lyte Bluetooth sunglassesIn March 2021, we tested Lucyd Lyte Bluetooth sunglasses, a pair of shades with built-in off-ear headphones. Lucyd Lyte didn't quite impress—mostly because their tiny built-in speakers are nearly as audible to everyone around you as they are to you. Today, we'll take a look at two models of bone-conduction headphones suggested to us in that review's comment section—the AfterShokz Titanium and AfterShokz Air. That's partly to do with the materials used and the weighting and positioning of the various components, but it's also got to do with where the speakers themselves sit on your head. At least on the face that we tested them on, the Trekz Air sat comfortably within a small dimple area at the top of the jawbone. It's a really subtle, careful, clever design. AfterShokz's bone-conduction design is also a significant functional improvement for people who need to keep paying attention to their surroundings. With unobstructed ears, it's much easier to converse with those around you, notice important traffic cues while jogging or riding a bicycle, and so forth. Press and hold the power/ volume up button for 5 to 7 seconds. The voice prompt will say, “Welcome to Air,” followed by, “Pairing.” The LED will flash red/blue.The controls are simple, too; on the right-hand side are volume buttons, which send a tone to the speakers with every press (and a higher-pitch tone when the maximum volume is reached). That's important because, as open-ear headphones, there is a risk of sound leakage. Our biggest issue with the Trekz Air isn't the use of bone conduction, but its short battery life. However, that's caused by a clever lightweight design that's hard to resist, and which gives the Trekz Air a characteristic that's truly unique; they're so light and un-intrusive that it's easy to forget you're wearing them. And that, surely, is what true immersion in music is really all about. Nevertheless, if you're looking for a set of bone conduction headphones for longer runs and rides, we'd seriously recommend considering the older Trekz Air over the OpenMove. If you’ll mostly be wearing them while running and won’t have the volume cranked too high, the vibration of the older headset is unlikely to be an issue and we've found its softer, more ergonomic design comfortable enough to wear all day long.

When you want to disable Bluetooth multipoint, press and hold the multi-function and volume up buttons for 3 seconds. The voice prompt will say,The big benefit of the technology is that thanks to its open design, you can hear what's going on around you while listening to
