The machine will enter descale mode. The descaling alert will blink orange while the espresso button turns a steady white. Locate the descaling pipe from its storage area. Push it onto the steam connector. You should now see that the warm milk button is blinking orange. Integral to the machine’s functions are two accessories: the milk container and the water spout. The water spout fits behind a small door on the side of the machine, so there’s no risk of it getting lost in the kitchen’s junk drawer. It plugs into a port in front of the machine to dispense hot water. The milk container plugs into the same port, and steam is used to turn hot milk into a frothy foam.

Perform a rinse cycle to remove any residue from inside the machine. To do this, press the Hot Water button only.The milk taste really bad if sitting in the plastic milk container for more than a day or 2. So I had to poor a little bit of milk into it every time I use it. The milk also smells like plastic and off sort of.

That is when we got our first Lattissima and the world was good, for almost four years. Then it started leaking water and it did not froth. We called Nespresso and they would fix it but would not loan us a machined that would froth milk. Both my wife and I like our coffee just so, and no other. In 40 years of marriage we have worked out what we like and do not like! Of course you can do everything manually yourself by dispensing your shot (or shots) of coffee first and then hitting the milk button to add as much milk as you require. Whichever way you do it, though, you can be sure that the resulting drink will taste great.Press the Lungo button only and the descaling process will start. Wait until the water tank is empty. We weren’t particularly impressed with the De’Longhi Latissima+ when we reviewed it. Although it looked good on paper, it failed to deliver the goods when it came to the quality of coffee produced. The three main control buttons on the top of the machine light up when they're ready to use. These aren’t labelled with text, so you’ll have to refer to the manual to work out what the icons mean since they perform functions in addition to their standard 40ml espresso, 110ml lungo coffee and milky drink options.

Delonghi is one of two Nespresso manufacturing partners in the United States. The other is Breville. Delonghi makes several Nespresso models across both the Vertuo and Original product lines. The temperature of 66C is just about perfect, and consistent, no matter how many cups you’re making. A foldable, metal cup rest, unique to the Pro among the Lattissima models, lets you accommodate glasses up to 5.5 inches tall or small espresso cups. You’re not going to fit a giant America-style coffee travel mug in there, but that’s really not what Nespresso is intended for. There's also an integrated light that helps you see where your cup is placed under the spout without cranking on your kitchen lights (helps when you want to sneak in that late night or early morning espresso shot).
