About this deal

Again, the previous 90xxs and 92xxs shavers will not work with any station, unfortunately. 7. Different battery capacities I mentioned on several occasions that the Braun Series 9 is, as far as shaving performance goes, a great shaver — definitely one of the best you can currently buy. These new shavers were initially only available in several European countries and it wasn’t clear if or when they will be officially launched in the USA as well. While stainless steels will share some characteristics, understanding the different types available is essential to finding the optimal traits and price point for your needs. The station is fortunately really handy in that situation, so in my view it is a welcome addition. Replacement parts availability

Hi Dear Ovidiu, thanks in advance for your useful information…. I face some topic that I kindly ask you follow this subject even by Braun Company too. While I was convinced that the Series 9 PRO (94xx) would be the last variation of the almost decade-old Series 9, it turns out I was wrong. As my offer, my brother buy the new one series 9 as 9295 and NOW that I compare the new one and the other one that used about one year, we understand that after one year usage the noise of this shaver is terrible…. I guess the only thing missing would be the small bottle of lubricant. It’s not a big deal, but at this price point, one would expect to find all the goodies inside the box. Battery life and charging And considering that the 93xx shavers are now widely available and can cost even less than the 92xx, those are probably the ones to get. While there’s no official mention of this by Braun (in fact, their customer support reps might say they will not work), the newer 93xx, 94xx and 95xx solo models are in fact compatible with the new 93xx/95xx stations (props to Pablo for confirming it). That all changed with the 93xxs, 94xx, and 95xx solo models (9330s, 9419s, 9527s etc): those will actually work with a compatible station. The type 5790 (dry only) Series 9 shavers have been phased out and replaced by the newer wet/dry models.

We also have the wet & dry Series 9 variations that don’t include the cleaning station (the so-called solo models) and usually cost a bit less than the corresponding cc models. I haven’t personally tried to make my own cleaning solution, but I am familiar with the various recipes that exist. First of all, I would use specially denatured alcohol (SDA 40-B) as it’s not as harsh to the plastic surfaces of the shaver and the gaskets in the station as the other options (isopropyl, rubbing alcohol etc.). Secondly, I wouldn’t add any machine oils to the mix. I would only use denatured alcohol, some distilled water (around 20 – 30ml) and D-Limonene (one tablespoon). This last ingredient is also used by Braun in their solution (it dissolves grease and leaves behind that nice citrus scent). The new Series 9 9385cc/9390cc comes with an upgraded MCU (microcontroller unit). The 32bit unit is a lot more powerful than the presumably 8bit processor of the existing Series 9 shavers. The foils getting warm during use is common with electric shavers, including the Series 9, as long as it doesn’t get hot to the point of feeling discomfort.

Overall, the 9385cc shaved close and the vast majority of users will be pleased with the performance.

Anyway that’s just my preference with regards to the Series 9, I think the station is worth the extra money. With Panasonic for example I never buy the one that come with a station, it’s simply not needed. Finally, there’s the new Philips Norelco 9500 if you know from previous experience that rotary razors work better for you. If you already have a 92xx or 93xx Series 9 that’s still in good shape, it doesn’t really make sense to upgrade to a Pro since the performance gains are minor overall. I wet shave & rinse the shaver head only in flowing water under a tap 15 sec one side 15 sec the other one & when my cc station used to work after air drying I used to put it for cleaning & there was no dirt or a single hair for that month of cleaning but then if there’s no hair in the c&c station I wonder what’s the point of it, clean the head under the tap flowing water, air dry & then spray a disinfectant & lubricant isn’t that much better & hygienic than the same fluid for 1 month flowing in & out of your shaver? There are no physical differences between the two stations, the latter just entered production later on. I appreciate you taking the time to get in touch with us, Arne. If you have any future questions, don’t hesitate to reconnect with Braun. When it arrived i immediately wanted to use it and figured id just plug it in and shave , but i had to wait for a full charge (So now when batter finally goes ill have to send away and wait for a battery replacement ). With that said, the Series 9 9390cc/9385cc is alongside the other Series 9 versions one of the most comfortable shavers you can buy today.

Is the old charging station (still Series 9, just earlier version) simply not compatible with the newer version of the shaver? Unfortunately I can’t tell if the cleaning works since the cleaning solution has just run out… If the cleaning works, I could keep the station around and not keep the shaver in it other than to charge and clean, but if the cleaning won’t work then I may as well just use the charging stand and return to manual cleaning. Would be good to know before buying more cleaning solution. Thanks! So you don’t necessarily need the station, but I find it quite useful just to clean the shaver thoroughly every once in a while. My first shaver was an old seventies Braun of my father’s with just one large foil. It only functioned when used daily, while shaving wet was hard to do without shaving pimples as well. A bigger battery, with a 20% larger capacity compared to the previous generation. That should provide up to 60 minutes of cordless shaving time. My guess is that depending on your facial hair’s particularities and technique, you may see a small benefit from leading with the HyperLift & Cut trimmer vs the SkinGuard and the Direct & Cut element. If you notice any improvements in either of the cases, just continue using it that way. Otherwise, I wouldn’t worry too much about this issue. Braun even says that it doesn’t make any difference at all.I did have a look at the “Braun Series 9 Model Comparison: What Are The Differences?” again and I could see that for some reason I have unfortunately overlooked the great comparison chart that you have made with all the comparison between the 93xx (and 92xx and 90xx models). After reading the chart I can see that the 9385cc is THE model I will go for. If you’re on a tighter budget, shave daily/every other day and you have a light to medium beard, the Arc 3 should be good enough. Just make sure to get one of the models fitted with a 13 000 CPM (cycles per minute) motor like the ES8103S or ES-LT6N/ES-LT3N and so on. For slightly more money you can also get the Arc 4 ES-LA63-S or ES8243AA if you live in the USA. Those come with 4 blades and should handle a coarse beard without any issues. Finally, there’s the range-topping Arc 5 (with models like the ES-LV65-S or ES-LV67) with 5 blades and excellent performance (closeness and comfort). Those are also more expensive. The closeness of the shave with the Series 9 Pro seems to be slightly better compared to the regular Series 9, even though the two foil elements have remained unchanged — there’s no info from Braun regarding any improvements in that area.
