So recovery of the bike still relies on us the owner, by whatever means we deem necessary/safe/proprtionate. If you like the sound of an under-the-saddle AirTag mount, the Ninja Mount Saddle is your best readily available option. They are provided with a security bolt, which is a T20 with a pin in the centre, requiring a T20b bit to use it (which is provided). My DIY AirTag holder worked quite nicely, but for those without a 3D printer, I put together a separate DIY AirTag mount guide. The AirTag is a very snug fit, with no rattling, to ensure your tracker stays put and can never fall out!

As I have mentioned several times, the AirTag holder is made from aluminium which makes it difficult to get off without specific tools. and while it's more secure thanks to its aluminium construction, this impacts on the signal from the AirTag. It still tracked in the same way and I could pick it up from my bike shed when I was inside, and when I tested by riding around and tracking it from a different phone I had similar results to a ‘naked’ AirTag.
