But for now, I don't like these stories and am rather surprised and dissapointed by them, considering how much I liked and grew up with the other Enyd Blyton's stories.

It's a great read to read to specific children who need the reminder that the way that they choose to treat others has consequences both for good and for evil. Such a thought is actually espoused at the beginning of the next story but we all know it's pretty futile to entertain such an idea. It does, and the clockwork mouse suffers the most, but at least Amelia Jane does her best to neutralize the danger.
