About this deal

Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. The Family Gamers received a complimentary copy of Dinosaur Tea Party that was used for this review. Once a player has answered your question, you use one of your trait tiles to indicate their response. My my, darling, I say, it is quite a bright day for a stroll out in the garden, did you happen to bring your hat today? Since all information is open information (except for which dinosaur card each player is holding), the game is all about figuring out which traits to guess of which player.

Sure, it's not going to satisfy your need for a heavy head-scratcher, but as a light game between bigger ones, or if you want to play a game with some young people that won't leave you completely bored, it's a great option. This means that there is never any confusion about how to answer questions, nor if the person answering your question is answering differently than you would have do to differing perception. Players secretly look at the dinosaur card they were dealt — that’s the guest they are — and they’re ready to play. The key lies in crafting strategic questions that reveal information while keeping one's own identity concealed. I believe that games allow us to interact inclusively, and that EVERYONE is welcome at the gaming table. The only minor drawback is the absence of additional components, like more dinosaurs or more quirks, which could have added more variety to the gameplay. Furthermore, it lets players broaden their questioning; they must now not only decide what question to ask, but to which player they are going to direct that question. The quirks make it so you can’t really be sure if the answer you received is correct and forces you to use critical thinking skills and deduction to figure out the answer.

Dinosaur Tea Party is a light deduction game where players try to be the first to figure out 3 of the other guests’ names. The object of the game is to collect three sugar cubes by guessing the names of three guests at the party. With various identifying factors like glasses, pets, cups of tea and flowery adornments, there are plenty of questions to identify these reptilian partygoers. Limiting their options can help keep them focused on finding one person’s identity, rather than 2 or 3 or 4. There are also three 'quirk' tiles that read 'Always lies,' 'Switches answers,' or 'Always says "no. Players continue taking turns until one player has correctly identified 3 guests (claimed 3 sugar cubes).

The dinosaur cards are copies of the tiles and will let the players know what dinosaur they are during the game.Likewise, you may choose to guess traits of other guests based on which traits your dinosaur has so that when they’re being narrowed down, you know slightly a bit more than others. If you think you know which dinosaur a player has, you can take your turn to guess that instead of guessing one of the trait tokens. Always Says No: When a player asks about a trait, this dinosaur must always answer No (even if the correct answer would be Yes).
