About this deal

This is the same basic system as Apple uses with its AirTags, and like AirTag, this is all done without revealing the tag's location to the users of whichever phones it might have pinged. I started by enabling Offline finding in the phone’s Biometrics and Security screen; there’s also a way to do it from the SmartThings Find interface. One side of the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag Plus has a button that you tap to interact with it, while the other side is solely devoted to the Samsung logo which is suitably hidden away.

By contrast, the AirTag’s IP67 rating means it can survive being submerged in up to a meter of water for 30 minutes. This feature overlays virtual graphics onto the camera view to indicate the location of misplaced items. Similar to its predecessor, the SmartTag Plus has a corner hole for attaching a keyring or an easy-to-lose umbrella. The tag can also be set up to locate your phone, with a double-tap of the button activating the phone's ringer even if it's set to mute — useful if you're primarily using the Tag+ for its smart home features. If this is the case, then you have the right as a consumer to make use of the 30-day refund policy or to request compensation. The SmartTag+ is similar to the SmartTag, but it also offers augmented reality (AR) finding via Ultra-wideband technology.

AR Finding gives you a uniquely visual way to locate a lost item with a SmartTag+ attached, which will help you pinpoint the location of the tracker by using the ultra-wideband connection and the camera on your Galaxy device, it will show you the way on your phone screen through the SmartThings app and it will let you know you're close with a glimmering green light when you're at the destination. But you'll need a recent Galaxy phone to get the most out of the Tag+, and its more advanced features work better if your smart home consists of other Samsung-compatible gadgets. Once you're finished, the device will be available in the SmartThings app and will appear in the SmartThings Find feature. IoT devices need to be registered within the SmartThings app for a feature to function, and it's only available with Galaxy devices. This feature will allow you to track the SmartTag and other mobile devices that are added to your SmartThings account. These item trackers can be attached to a keyring or tucked inside a bag or a wallet, and then once you’ve paired them with a compatible smartphone you’ll be able to use your handset to hunt your tagged things down if they go missing. Samsung Galaxy SmartTag+ tracker is portable and lightweight, small enough to attach it to every valuable item without adding too much bulk. The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag Plus performs magic for the forgetful among us by tracking where the tag and your stuff end up. So when you press or hold the button down, you could switch on the lights as you arrived home and switch on the heater you have hooked up to a smart plug, for instance.

It feels fine and looks good on your keychain or even your dog's collar if that's where you need it to go.Here's where you'll get an introduction to everything the SmartTag+ can do, much of which overlaps with the regular SmartTag.
