About this deal

Three footballers recount their climb to the top of the professional game during a period of austerity and economic turmoil. You don't have to be a Nottingham Forest fan to enjoy this either, I'm not one and yet by the end of the film I jhad nearly become one - but only nearly. At the moment, we don’t have a trailer, but you can gleam a little more at the listing page for the disc release. A growing collection of documentary films is springing up, telling stories of sporting successes over the past decades, and the cultural impact of them. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.

Sky has relinquished the rights to the Academy Awards, leaving the event currently without a UK broadcaster as things stand. Closed captions refer to subtitles in available languages with the addition of relevant non-dialogue information. All three players are really honest and speak so well about their lives - something today's players never do. All three are working-class men from Nottingham who fought their way to the top despite the obstacles they faced, which included rampant racism and discrimination. The technical side of this documentary really lets down what is actually being said by Anderson, Birtles and Woodcock.

If you are familiar with this period in English football, you’ll know that the lads played under perhaps the most charismatic football manager of them all, Brian Clough. Netflix adds a Rian Johnson director's commentary for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery to its streaming service. It also explores “football’s political and cultural transformation over the years and draws parallels between life as a footballer in the 1970s to life in the footballing world now”. If you like your 70's social history and you like to know more about some great legends who played for arguably the greatest ever football side ( and I'm a lifelong loyal Liverpool fan) at a human and personal level, then this is a truly a must watch DVD.Local Heroes explores football’s political and cultural transformation over the years and draws parallels between life as a footballer in the 1970s to life in the footballing world now. They weren’t born as toys for Arab states or Russian oligarchs, they were just clubs for men, boys and women to enjoy a game of football as a group.

Only a decade or so before I got into Football, Forest had climbed club football’s highest mountain, and conquered Europe, twice!Oli is the Founder of The Sporting Blog, and enjoys writing about tennis, football, boxing and sports experiences.
