About this deal

It's good for general office use as long as you don't do any heavy multitasking because it's limited in screen real estate.

The speakers aren't great, but are bearable - in the menu they're set to 50% by default so definitely crank it up to 100% and adjust volume in your operating system instead. The only thing I can fault is on the 2nd monitor, there's a 'smudge' of some sort that will not come of so I have a feeling it's within the screen itself, it's no biggie as it's the monitor I use just to put my discord/google on etc, but a little annoying considering I paid so much. The AOC 24G2 monitor is based on an IPS panel by PANDA with wide 178° viewing angles, a 250-nit specified peak brightness (which even gets a bit above 300-nits), a ~1,000:1 static contrast ratio and dithered 8-bit color depth (6-bit + 2-bit FRC), which is indistinguishable from true 8-bit depth in real use. You’ll recognise the multi-pin connector and know that almost all modern LCD displays have the corresponding input connector, for feeding from your PC.

Ultra fast 1ms response time and impressive 144Hz refresh rate diminish distractions like blurring and ghosting that can mean the difference between victory and defeat.

In the past, we have been treated to HD (high definition), denoting the screen is capable of running a minimum 720p resolution. On black screens, there is some light bleeding - however it's only minimal and doesn't detract from the overall experience.

However, it has slower response times and higher input lag at 60Hz than the AOC, making it less ideal for playing 60fps console games. The AMD FreeSync Premium Technology ensures that the GPU’s and monitor’s refresh rates are synchronised, which provides a fluid, tear free gaming experience at highest performance. As you’ll all likely know by now, DVI is the current standard for connection of a PC or other display generator to a digital display output. Intel, the Intel Logo, Intel Inside, Intel Core, and Core Inside are trademarks of Intel Corporation in the U. Some mention that the brightness is very high for an IPS monitor and the monitor is very responsive, with fantastic colors and stellar when gaming.Computers have a number of ports and sockets that enable the user to plug-in various peripherals such as a printer, USB mouse, or, perhaps most importantly of all, an Internet connection. I mentioned this to a friend and he told me that once you've started using a 144hz screen you'll never go back to a standard 60hz and boy was he right! Neither can be used simultaneously with VRR and enabling it may cause some image duplication due to strobe crosstalk. For the most part, the ASUS performs better because it has a much higher refresh rate of 280Hz and faster response times at max refresh rate. The AOC 24G2 has an okay contrast ratio, better than the typical 1000:1 contrast of most IPS panels.

I have my mouse dongle ,a webcam, my keyboard, and a lightbar running off the USB hub and it seems to be coping just fine, which is all I need it to be doing. Further, MBR reduces the maximum brightness of the screen, but you can adjust the frequency of the backlight strobing in the OSD (On-Screen Display) menu of the monitor, and find the perfect ratio of motion clarity and brightness for you. The AOC 24G2 and the Dell Alienware AW2521HF are both 1080p gaming monitors, although the Dell has a slightly bigger 25" screen versus the AOC's 24".Using the 'sRGB' Color Temperature locks Contrast to '50', Brightness to '90', and Gamma to '1', resulting in a peak brightness of about 200 cd/m². The AOC 24G2 was one of the best budget gaming monitor available thanks to its smooth performance, great image quality, plenty of useful features and excellent design quality. No damage with the display to speak of, and no physical damage on the monitor either, except for a small paint scratch on the base as visible in photographs.
