About this deal

I love the natural angst that comes with reuniting with a lost love and the struggles as they learn to love who they are now instead of their past selves. I was so enthralled with this entire book and pretty much binged it since I didn’t want to put it down. The development of Emmeline's thoughts and feelings was so natural that they could have been my own thoughts and feelings. Though I did find myself wishing for an Elora pov but I suspect that may be something the author will offer later on. Two stars because the ending was entertaining enough but my oh MY GOSH it took me too long to finish this book.

This book is a genuine 5star read, emotional, exciting, passionate and I’m going straight into the next book “Between Despair and Hope”. Instead, we get: Emmeline and Rainier half naked, clinging to each other, and smooching in front of a decent sized group of soldiers. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Emmeline believes her daughter, Elora, is the Beloved—the conduit with goddess-granted divine abilities prophesied to bring peace to the Three Kingdoms. Once the conversation finally begins, we learn that Emmaline has correctly deduced what everyone is thinking and feeling--by having to see it all play out again. The relationship between Emma and Rain is lovely, I was sobbing more than once and while I got slightly irritated by Emma’s indecision at times it actually made perfect sense considering their history and the reality of their current lives.

The action scenes, the emotion, the magic, the heart to hearts, the friendship, the romance, and the character development were all wonderful. If you love stories where characters aren’t perfect, and you can easily connect with real life situations - THIS is the book for you.The female empowerment in this story is fantastic without feeling like it’s fanservice, and the romance is a slow burn that has you falling in love at the same time as the characters. Though I'm not a mother, I felt with Emmeline and could clearly understand her actions and reactions. Rain is the perfect compliment to her, pushing her when she needs to and helping her come in to her own powers. We follow Emma, a 34 year old mother to a 15 year old daughter, in a loveless marriage who is doing everything she can to protect her daughter from the same fate as her twin sister. Emma is so fierce and when her daughter goes missing, she is ready to tear the world apart to get her back safely.

He could easily flip the switch between being lovingly sweet and raunchy like it's nobody's business. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. It's always sad for me to read a book that someone obviously put so much effort into only to realize that that effort was in vain. I know the plot has to go somewhere after this cliffhanger, so if you don’t mind powering through this one I’d say go for it. We get to see her adventures on the rescue, her 2nd chance love, the fact that she has a regular sized body or possibly plus sized (we don't know what size or weight, just that she is larger than when she last saw her ex, which obviously).Emmeline quickly became your typical Mary Sue, instead of a badass mother that would tear the world apart for her kid. With the weight of his father’s impending death hanging over his head, Crown Prince Rainier has begun to make moves to prove his dedication to assume the role of king. But the reason I’m putting it down for now after two weeks of slowly reading it, is because it’s a bit slow for my liking. Most books I've read that feature plus-size heroines—their insecurities about their figures is always highlighted.

Just know it does ends on a cliffhanger so be ready to jump into book 2 (which is thankfully already out 😅), which is exactly what I’m about to go do! I’ve been allowing myself to be distracted by all of this because it keeps me from thinking about Elora. It didn’t matter how wild the magic or imaginative the creature, it was all written so well that it felt as sensible as the trees in the forest. I love that Em never focuses too hard on her post baby body in a negative way, it just is what it is and its perfect. It is a fantasy romance following Emmeline (a mid-size woman in her 30's), whose daughter is the Beloved and kidnapped. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. There was an ease to reading this that just had my eyes floating across the page, but not because the vocabulary or syntax was juvenile.
