Beautiful finish
With smooth, curvaceous lines, the Minx MIN12 speakers look every bit as good as they sound. Back in the early 1980s, Cambridge Audio’s founder Stan Curtis launched the first multi-box CD player at a time when CD was almost sci-fi to most listeners.

With its unique design and big stereo sound, the Airstream S200 is a worthy alternative to Cambridge Audio's speaker. Delving deeper into the unit’s menu via its eight front panel buttons requires a quick read of the longer manual to understand what each one does, partly because their legends aren’t immediately intuitive and partly because some perform multiple functions. You'll be blown away by the accuracy, detail, and realism from this stacked speaker that measure just 6" high and less than 4" deep. Despite the jarring nature of these moments, the sub remains well integrated with the rest of the system, producing a dramatic sound befitting of a big screen experience. What that is I don't know but I'm going to do some reading about all the ones you've mentioned, so a big thanks again. It’s a lively little unit with a slightly forward presentation that likes to bring vocals and musical verve to the fore.

In its present setup version though, your PC has to first connect to the speaker’s own WiFi network, via a supplied IP address typed in a browser. Finally, the BMR unit moves in a more uniform manner, giving a more accurate sound across all frequencies. We noted that the sub performance – like almost always – was very placement dependent and we’d advise the Minx TV is best situated somewhere it has room to breathe, i. br>
Ideal for home cinema, discreet hi-fi or desktop audio, the Cambridge Audio Minx MIN12 speakers offer quality sound, style and flexibility like little else. If you upgrade your AV amp to a Dolby Atmos™ model, you can always add some Minx C46 ceiling speakers for fully immersive soundtracks.

And speaking of bass, the Minx is engineered with plenty of it, and hearing such fulsome lows from the little Qs suggests that the Minx is designed to get the most out of smaller/budget speakers in the lower registers. Those very low effects handled by the subwoofer would also sometimes distort and overpower the rest of the audio, especially using the Movie DSP, so we’d avoid that mode and whilst there’s not really a great deal between the other three, in terms of tuning, we found the Voice and Music modes to offer the best accompaniment to film soundtracks. system together featuring 5 Min22 compact speakers with an X301 subwoofer and all the cable you need. Minx’s diminutive proportions, understated looks, and choice of colour means that they won’t overwhelm your living room, home office or dining room.

It is essentially a combination of technology from Cambridge’s NP30 streamer, the converter from an Azur 351C CD player and a class AB amplifier based on that in an Azur 351A integrated. Taking the Minx to its audio limit comes in the form of a 24/96 FLAC of Nick Drake’s Five Leaves Left, with the Minx now driving my reference Audiovector Mi 3 Signature floorstanders.
