Learn to Play with Casio Music Space

Available FREE for iOS and Android devices, Casio Music Space is an app than can show you how to play over 100 famous pieces of classical music, as well as work as a piano remote controller, and PDF music viewer. Hi Terry, touch-wise these are quite similar, in fact, the CDP-S100 has a newer key action, but the difference is not big.

You may be required to provide photos of the damage/fault for our Quality Control to investigate further if the damage is excessive and if the part or item is eligible for a replacement. The keys themselves are plastic but have a simulated ivory and ebony feel, which gives a subtle grip that reduces the risk of slipping during play. If you've any questions, or not sure what you need to get for your device, just get in touch and we'll advise. This allows for smoother playing and will become an essential part of your playing after just a few months. These piano tones are warm, rich, and sound, well, just like a real piano - but if you are thinking of upgrading your current S100 to the S110 for a marked sound improvement, you'd be wasting your cash. The PX is a bit more expensive — but if I understand your review it has a better “real piano” touch than the CDPS-S100? Even more impressive is that these are powerful, dual 8W speakers, when other competitors like the Roland FP-10 and Yamaha P-45 rely on dual 6W ones.

I contacted Casio and was informed that the piano would need to be mailed to the service center to see if could be repaired. One of the reasons why I wanted to review the Casio CDP-S110BKC5 piano was the fact that it advertised Scaled Hammer Action II technology. As aforementioned, the two are pretty much the same when it comes to the audio and overall sensation.

Including Great Music from Rockschool

Choosing an instrument is only the beginning of your musical journey.

The latest sound technology and authentic key feel supports expressive and well-developed playing for years to come. Even if you eventually transition to an acoustic piano, it will still take some getting used to regardless of whether your digital piano had graded keys or not. The latter’s speakers are also at the bottom hence the usual complaint about its slightly muted volume. Another example of polyphony consumption is when you’re playing along with a song playback (can also be your own recorded performance) or auto-accompaniment. I have a massive passion for anything that makes a sound, in particular guitars, pianos and recording equipment.

The PX-S series was designed for stage use, hence the portability factor, but I don’t exactly see why the CDP-S series needed the same treatment. I can’t say this enough, but for relatively inexpensive musical instruments, the fact that both sounds natural is quite impressive.

In terms of sturdiness, the CDP-S100 is decent, with the chassis remaining solidly in place even when applying heavy force. It’s better to stick to these six because the four others (strings, harpsichord, pipe, and jazz organ) are less than satisfactory.Although those apps do provide some additional functionality, their main purpose is to make navigating the instrument easier. I am over 60 and have never touched a piano or keyboard before but would like to learn to play one now. I’d say definitely, but your mileage may vary, so it’s hard to tell unless you try them for yourself. In the simplest terms, polyphony is defined as the number of notes that can be played and heard simultaneously without losing a particular sound. The first beat of each bar is emphasised by a different sound from the metronome (you can choose to turn this aspect off) and you can specify bar lengths between 2 to 9 beats so you could have the metronome beating 5/4 or 9/8, for example, as well as more common time signatures.
