About this deal

Except this year it is going to be a quiet-ish Christmas in her house, which doesn't feel right because Christmas is all about noisiness and being full up and FAMILY. I hope Lauren Child will be writing more in the series as it is wonderful to have the adorable Clarice Bean back for more adventures. Even if you’ve never read a Clarice Bean book before, you will fall in love with this brilliantly narrated story of thinking about others, doing kind things and believing that your biggest Christmas wishes can come true. The curiously clever preteen is back for “Clarice Bean: Think Like an Elf” for an all new Christmas tale for the ages. Perfect for getting 8 to 12 year olds in the Christmas spirit” was written in one review I read… well, it was perfect for getting this 39-year-old into the Christmas spirit!

The story is full of holiday cheer, and I loved hearing about all the family traditions that Clarice Bean celebrated with her family. The one and only Clarice Bean is back to save her family’s Christmas in this sparkling story of joy, goodwill to all peoplekind, and some very Clarice catastrophes, perfect for sharing with all the family! It’s a lovely children’s book aimed at I would say 7-13 years old’s, written in a cheerful way, including plenty of gorgeous illustrations. I bought this as a gift - but read it as I wanted to check its suitability ( and make sure there were no Christmas spoilers).Ebooks fulfilled through Glose cannot be printed, downloaded as PDF, or read in other digital readers (like Kindle or Nook). For the 50th anniversary of the Medal (1955–2005), a panel named it one of the top ten winning works, which comprised the shortlist for a public vote for the nation's favourite.

I did not know that this book existed and so when I ran across it I immediately bought it and read it well in advance of the Christmas season. Just when Christmas stress seems at its most overwhelming, the love and joy of family and friends saves the day. Lauren Child is at the peak of her game here, and Think Like an Elf is filled with all the warmth and humour we've come to expect. The illustrations are darling but I found the font to be difficult to read in some places and the storyline seemed to meander all over the place.
