About this deal

To fully immerse yourself in the profound insights, heartfelt stories, and practical strategies presented by Richard Pink and Roxanne Emery, we encourage you to embrace the complete journey by obtaining the full version of "Dirty Laundry. I remember being sat in a pitch-black apartment, after my electricity was cut off for late payment, surrounded by empty bottles that had contained the alcohol I used to self-medicate the anxiety, wishing the pain would stop. Do you always feel misunderstood by the people close to you and find that they get frustrated by your behaviour? Może jestem po prostu wrażliwszą osobą ale nie ważne jak blisko bym była z daną osobą żarty tu przytoczone w kontekście niektórych zachowań by mnie raniły.

If I'd have one criticism (and I do) is that the book (and the social media) are from the perspective of helping the ND partner function in society and how much the NT partner is doing, how aware they are, how patient, loving and understanding.

Save your cash and just watch their social media posts; which are free to access and more informative. It could have been a decent read if the authors had chosen to tell it as their narrative instead of some form of truth. This is not a medical journal or a work of literary genius – but it’s a really accessible insight into a couple where one has ADHD and one is neuro typical. The same shame I had felt for my entire life, until I received an ADHD diagnosis at age 36 and, soon afterward, became part of an incredible internet community of people just like me.

It was the same information repeated - but each had perspective A: adhd author, and then the same stuff again from perspective B: neurotypical author. Hyperfocus is an extremely intense ability to focus on a particular subject, for a duration of time that cannot be estimated. Each chapter is set out in the same way, with an anecdote about how a certain aspect of Rox's ADHD has negatively impacted her life, then a basic therapy paragraph about how "the ADHD brain isn't wrong, just DIFFERENT, and there is nothing wrong with that! I devoured this book in a couple of hours and felt my perspective of myself and my adhd shift enormously. That rising sense of shame and humiliation, as you go back through the likely places, eventually accepting that you’ve lost another expensive device? If you learn to regulate your emotions through breathing or meditation, the stress of losing something can be reduced. To me, the solutions and hacks she offers for coping are OK, but they won't work well on their own -- if your life is truly that unmanageable, and you're really that powerless over your ADHD, then a few tips and tricks will only serve to make you feel a bit better in the short term -- and if you are single, you won't have anyone to pick up the pieces for you afterwards. This book approaches ADHD in a frank and completely transparent way, showing the absolute worst parts of ADHD that people who live with the condition are often so ashamed to acknowledge, never mind admit to.

Filled with heartbreak and humour in equal measure, DIRTY LAUNDRY is an invaluable resource both for neurodivergents and the people who love them.

I found this book via the couple’s social media, which posts lighthearted, loving, fun and informative ADHD scenarios. I love the design of the cover, the way you laid it out, the ease of which anyone can read it so it's accessible to all. Not all of the chapters are going to be relevant to everyone – and definitely aren’t for us as a family – but lots of them are. Our son has struggled for years with school and low self esteem before we realized (and accepted) that he has it.

Filled with heartbreak and humour in equal measure, Dirty Laundry is an invaluable resource both for neurodivergents and the people who love them. I thought that since I was medicated that it fixed ALL my ADHD symptoms and that whatever it didn’t fix was just because I was a lazy human or careless. This book; in high contrast with others written by doctors; is full with real experiences, authentic anecdotes and real-life situations that the writter has gone through in her journey as someone living with ADHD. If your or your partner’s ADHD is more at the level of annoying rather than disabling, and you just want some comic relief alongside guidance to help you navigate everyday life, this book might feel too heavy.

Many members of the trade said they had noticed an increase in the number of originally self-published works acquired by traditional houses recently thanks to an increase in “discoverability” on the direct-to-consumer platform. Don’t get me wrong, the first type of books are also fantastic and super helpful, hell I own a few of those myself and am a big proponent of therapy.
