About this deal

As he goes past he sees there is a fire in the disused community centre and then someone in the building! This book continued a lot of the plot points from the first book that weren’t really explained and really explained them and a lot of things added up. The plot and the way the book is laid out is easy to follow, broken down in days so it’s easier to get an understanding of time frame. Whether you loved TWELVE SECRETS or whether you're discovering Ben Harper for the first time, ELEVEN LIARS will keep you hooked till the last page. With a deep focus on parents protecting children, this at times harsh novel still has space for warmth and love.

I did finish the book and the storyline, which was quite interesting, came to end with the mystery concluded, however there is the ongoing case for the next book. Thank you to NetGalley, Pigeonhole, Robert Gold and Sphere/Little Brown Book Group for the chance to read this book. com crime fiction blog featuring reviews, author guest posts and other fabulous booky things (with the odd psychological thriller and horror novel making an appearance! The story is mostly told from Ben's perspective; but we do get chapters from Dani, both in the present and past. KARIN SLAUGHTERPRAISE FOR ROBERT GOLD'Superb' LISA JEWELL 'This is what every other thriller aspires to be' Reader Review'Utterly absorbing' SHARI LAPENA'Excellent' LEE CHILD'My new favourite author' Read Review'One of a kind' JAMES PATTERSON___________________Journalist Ben Harper is on his way home when he sees the flames in the churchyard.

Robert Gold is the Sunday Times bestselling author of the Ben Harper series, which includes Twelve Secrets , a Richard and Judy Book Club pick , Eleven Liars and Ten Seconds . Highly recommended and thanks to Little, Brown Book Group UK, Sphere and Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This one crime unravels other crimes, to which Ben is determined to get to the bottom of, and starts to investigate with his police officer friend, Dani. A book designed to be read in one sitting because it is so easy to read and full of characters have you questioning motives and wanting the truth to be exposed.

Needless to say, there are lots of red herrings as the story twists and turns its course throughout the book and quite a few times I was caught in the trap of believing that everything had been fully revealed. Possibly better than the first one it was a book I couldn't put down and if you read it, like me, you will be eager of the next one. While the story in Twelve Secrets focused on Ben Harper and his family, Eleven Liars firmly focuses on PC Dani Cash and her family backstory. Una cosa che è mancata a mio avviso è stata la parte investigativa che in questo caso secondo me doveva essere di più presenza e invece è stata solo un accenno. As the police investigate the fire long buried human remains are discovered which turn out to have a major significance for Ben’s friend, Dani Cash who is a policewoman who has helped Ben on a previous case. You don’t really have to read TWELVE SECRETS to appreciate this one, but I would strongly recommend it so you have an idea of the characters and relationships.

Eleven Liars was published by Sphere Books on 30th March 2023 and is available in hardcover, audio and digital formats with the paperback to follow later this year. Although Ben is the main character, we get to learn a lot more about and spend a considerable amount of time with PC Cash. Each chapter is told from a different person point of view, but it's not immediately obvious who's point of view you are reading, and I found I didn't know until 3-4 pages into each chapter. However felt the author fell into the trap of throwing everything at final few chapters, making what initially had been a good story convoluted and far fetched. However despite knowing slightly less about the back story of one of the main characters, it did not matter. I loved how the small town setting felt claustrophobic once again, with the locals keeping their closely guarded secrets close to their chests. There were so many parts of this book that had me shocked at the twists but there were other parts where I did guess what had happened.

After the shocking events of Twelve Secrets, the first book in this series, where Ben’s family and devastating past were centre stage, he’s hoping to get stuck back into work and start producing a true crime podcast alongside his boss, online news site owner Madeline Wilson. Freshly promoted to Detective Constable, Dani Cash, now working with Haddley Police Station CID, has been assigned to attend (and investigate) an incident of a fire at St Stephen's church. Whether you loved TWELVE SECRETS or whether you’re discovering Ben Harper for the first time, ELEVEN LIARS will keep you hooked till the last page.Right from the very beginning we dive straight into the story and become totally immersed in the world of Ben Harper and Dani Cash. Both Ben and Dani are engaging, likeable characters albeit with complex lives, and you can certainly feel sympathy for them.
