Early in his career, Lamar amassed a large internet following, and had already worked with Snoop Dogg, Dr. Blige including the singles Swimming Pools [Drank] Backseat Freestyle and Poetic Justice plus the bonus recordings The Recipe Black Boy Fly and Now Or Never.
