You can adjust them for any head shape and size, and they are generally extremely comfy, plus they swivel in every direction, making comfort a zero issue for any wearer. This musical, modern and interpretive tonality encouraged rediscovery of familiar tracks with fresh ears.
There is clear separation between the layers in music and games so you can hear the different elements that make up your soundscape. There’s no particular coloration in the midrange, like a specific dip or peak, Athena having a very clean sound that has a good timbre. I don't necessarily like the idea of glass on a headphone just for the fingerprints/scratches that can happen (no scratches yet, I'm careful). While well-built and sturdy overall, there are fewer metal parts compared to HarmonicDyne's more expensive models.And while touching on the “semi” closed aspect of these headphones, they are a lot more open than one would think. The Left (blue) and Right (red) channels are measured on a flat plate coupler with IEC60318-4 ear simulator.
From signal to vibration to the lovely melody you enjoy, Athena is skillful in this conversion with utmost efficiency, all thanks to the ultra-fine voice coil and flux magnetic driver system. It shares similarities to the legendary HD800's treble tonality, both exhibiting spacious air and energized sparkle up top. The HarmonicDyne Athena does work better with USB-powered dongle adaptors than most of my other circumaural headphones, but the sound didn't become really good until I tried them with the battery-powered Topping G5 DAC/amp, or better still, my Gustard H16 amplifier (mains power).HarmonicDyne has, in the past, produced some excellent headphones like the Zeus, which, I believe, satisfied a specific tuning niche whilst maintaining overall technical competence.
Egal, für mich zählt guter Klang und angenehmer Tragekomfort und diese Kriterien erfüllt der Athena allemal. At only 320 grams, they’re already on the lighter side, but the company did a great job of balancing clamp force with distributing the weight across the headband. Adjusting the angle of the headphones doesn’t result in any notable changes in the sense of directionality. It incorporates some high end qualities in it's sound such as the Imaging and over all balance of the FR.And this solid treble performance is highly synergized with the inherent microscopic capabilities, resulting in the best resolution in its class. Even though the headband is plastic, the headphones don’t feel poorly made or like they’ll break easily. Our reviews are not the work of a single individual, but the collective effort of our passionate team. During my listening sessions, I found the Athena’s balance to be experientially-neutral, which compensates for my ears being less sensitive to bass and treble at the volume level I use.
