Yet despite the visions that greet me every time I shut my eyes, etched as they now are upon my very soul, I can’t help but recommend this film, and I have done so to several people already. It’s a brief but open and honest feature that helped me understand who could create a film like Mad God . dba Freestar (“Freestar”) for the purposes of placing certain advertising on the site, and Freestar will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. Directed by Phil Tippett (Star Wars, Jurassic Park), the world's pre-eminent stop motion animator, every set, creature, and effigy in this macabre masterpiece is hand-crafted and painstakingly animated using traditional stop-motion techniques. Almost everything in this world is animated and the sheer number of creatures inhabiting the film’s world and interacting with each other is amazing.

The gory and sometimes hilarious accidental deaths that happen throughout the film are made useful within this system; it all serves the literal and systemic machine. There are some human actors to be seen, most notably mad director Alex Cox ( Repo Man, Tombstone Rashomon), but they are few and very far between. The cast and crew he assembled across the years get their own commentary and provide more depth and information than are available on the slight supplements. While it may seem that he would be one of the go-to’s for effects work, his true artistry lies within stop-motion animation.

A figure known as "The Assasin" as descends from the heavens into a nightmarish pit full of monsters, titans and cruelty. The rest of the disc’s bonus material is more in-depth details about topics and ideas discussed in the audio commentaries.
