About this deal

Breakfast is a beautiful musing on moments of personal choice, the big ones, the ones that are rooted in our existential crisis between identities of who we say we want to be vs the rules by which we choose to live our lives.

Among other things, Patterson is gifted with the ability to see in real time three different lives that are available to him. Breakfast is the latest from Jonathan Carroll, in which the author asks a familiar question: What would you do if you had it to do all over again? In fact, a key question of the novel is why it is Graham Patterson who gets to have this option to completely change his life and not anyone else. She must survive a daily gauntlet of physical challenges and the deadly attacks of classmates, which she does with the help of secret knowledge handed down by her two older siblings, who'd been students there before her.I'd definitely recommend this, but if you're new to the author, maybe start with some of his earlier books. He had a few thousand dollars left in his bank account afterward, which would get him across the country to where his patient and very successful brother Joel was waiting with a job, if he wanted it.

This gives him the ability to visit two other versions of his own life and choose which one he wants to stay in.Below it, on the marquee sign where specialties of the house or community greetings like “Welcome Lions Club Members! Few recent works of fiction in any genre have touched on the vagaries of life, love, and art more movingly or with deeper understanding. It will surprise you, make you laugh and scare you — and then, just when you think it’s over, add several extra twists. Cosa faresti se potessi tornare a un preciso momento della tua vita e cambiarla facendo una scelta totalmente diversa? Once he was inside, a low woman’s voice with a heavy Southern accent sang out, “Sorry, but we’re closed.

The book is disarming and, at times, heartbreaking — but does come across as reading as a collection of scenes, making it ultimately a bit disjointed. After a kidnapping, death in a train crash, and an uncomfortable prehistoric reincarnation, Patterson knows for sure what life he won’t be picking. Added to this humiliation were the looks of indifference, impatience, and even derision on the faces of people who’d come to laugh but did not. Graham included detailed descriptions of each photo which was good because everyone who looked at them just saw blank photo paper. The opening was promising, setting up the type of tilt-a-whirl, unbalancing ride I’ve come to expect from Carroll that is so often satisfyingly unexpected. Secondary characters are ignored until a scene requires them to assist Violet or to be killed in the endless violence that plagues their school. It’s about Graham Patterson, a failed comedian and a recently failed relationship who takes off on a road trip.

The ideal breakfast is rich in whole grains, low in fat and sugar and contains some protein and at least a partial serving of fruits and/or vegetables. What I am unable to do is eat my breakfast and then decide that I have changed my mind, the past is the past.
