About this deal

On Christmas Eve morning I popped downstairs while dad kept them busy in the bedroom and quickly took all the packing off.

The table cloth is pale blue and thin plastic so you might prefer to use your own christmas tablecloth like I did.And when it comes to decoration, Christmas pancakes are the perfect opportunity for little hands to get involved. Then, use the icing to fix the pretzel halves to either side of the top of the muffin – they make great antlers! I did it last year then we all went to the conema (Violent Night very funny but not for children as the name suggests ) it was a lovely day so I'm keen to repeat it . I first saw the idea for the North Pole Breakfast from Cara Carroll of The First Grade Parade and I loved everything about it.

All the family can get involved with bingo, and the kids can enjoy their activity books rather than leaving the table when full. Living in Lancashire with her husband Phill and their two daughters, Bethany and Dorothy – Rachel has been blogging since 2011 about parenthood, food, craft, travel, wellbeing and vintage style. The North Pole Christmas breakfast is the sweetest treat your children could dream of and a lovely way to welcome in the festive season. My siblings and I always did our sibling gift exchange on Christmas Eve after church which was another reason to love it.Arrange and serve sausages and bacon in a Christmas tree shape, you can even add a star-shaped fried egg or omelette (use a cutter when cutting or afterwards). Now we set up the breakfast to welcome our Elf and the kids have a blast setting everything up for the arrival of our Elf on the Shelf! To me it looked like a normal breakfast but with presents and lots of disposable tableware – not for me.

And for the final touch, add a black dot to each of the white chocolate beans, so your reindeer muffin really comes to life. The 1st December also marks the first day of a Christmas book advent tree and I can't wait to re-visit my favourite festive stories (My top recommendations for Christmas stories are: The Smelly Sprout, Santa's Beard, The Jolly Christmas Postman, Father Christmas Needs a Wee and T'was the Night Before Christmas). We recently reviewed the Nadiya’s Bake A Story Delux Set which has a lovely Gingerbread recipe see here. Now, we only started this tradition last year so it was all pretty new to us but I cannot express to you how excited the kids were for their festive breakfast last year, so much so that I cannot wait for it this year now too. And be sure to check out our guide to hosting an elf – with free printable diary of 24 easy ideas – there’s something for everyone! Usually thrown on the 1st of December (but it can be done at any time in December that suits you), a North Pole Breakfast is a fun way to celebrate the countdown to Christmas and get into the festive spirit. Or you could enlist the help of your Elf On The Shelftheming with Candy Cane colours of red and white. A MUM has shared how she makes a cheap and simple 'North Pole Breakfast' to surprise her kids on December 1.

I went with red and gold as this is the most traditional Christmas colours I think but make it whatever colour scheme you want. Favourite larger Christmas decoration welcomed back for another year (a snowglobe would work well for example). With Beth being a little older and no longer believing in you know who, having a cheeky Elf set up funny scenes and pranks created some fun and magic every day throughout December. If you’re feeling particularly arty you could create your own chalkboard signs on the kid’s easel or grab a smaller chalkboard from Poundland or Home Bargains.Alternatively, use Christmas-themed cookie cutters and cut shapes out of dutch and American-style pancakes.
