On Christmas Eve morning I popped downstairs while dad kept them busy in the bedroom and quickly took all the packing off.

I went with red and gold as this is the most traditional Christmas colours I think but make it whatever colour scheme you want. With Beth being a little older and no longer believing in you know who, having a cheeky Elf set up funny scenes and pranks created some fun and magic every day throughout December. If you’re feeling particularly arty you could create your own chalkboard signs on the kid’s easel or grab a smaller chalkboard from Poundland or Home Bargains.Alternatively, use Christmas-themed cookie cutters and cut shapes out of dutch and American-style pancakes.
