The animated style (for those nitpicking) is a bit marmite - I didn’t mind it but some people may not gel with it - and some of the multiverse concepts might go over smaller children or casuals heads. The screenplay deftly weaves together humour, heart, and high-stakes action, ensuring that the audience remains engaged from start to finish. In Across the Spider-Verse, he is older, wiser and more capable after going through the challenges of his first year as a high school-aged superhero. It's safe to say that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has been a massive critical and commercial success. In some respects it’s a shame; this film is a love letter to Spider-fans, and is actually great for the casuals and kids, too. Now that the movie has left theaters, superhero fans can relive all the action as many times as they want through this four-disc edition that has a 4K edition, Blu-ray, DVD and digital download.
