About this deal

On June 19, 2007, Disney will reissue The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in a Friendship Edition DVD. This new disc will include all of this 25th Anniversary Edition DVD's bonus features plus an episode of the upcoming Playhouse Disney series "My Friends Tigger & Pooh." Voice Cast: Sterling Holloway (Winnie the Pooh), Paul Winchell (Tigger), Junius Matthews (Rabbit), John Fiedler (Piglet), Ralph Wright (Eeyore), Barbara Luddy (Kanga), Clint Howard (Roo), Howard Morris (Gopher), Hal Smith (Owl) There are no villains (something rare on Disney classics) and the characters are all friends. They all have different personalities, but they're all cool. Watching 'The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh' offers the unique perspective of watching Disney animation evolve over nearly a decade in a little over an hour. It's one of the most underrated movies in Disney's canon, simply because of its historical significance. However, that doesn't overshadow the fact that it is, indeed, a great little film full of charm. Disney, as with most things he took a keen interest in, was able to capture the childlike aspect of A.A. Milne's stories and morph them into seemingly living, breathing characters. Characters that would go on to become world-wide icons, remembered and beloved across generations.

Piglet, a stuffed pig in the Hundred Acre Wood who is afraid of everything but has a big heart. Voiced by John Fiedler. Kanga is nice and her son Roo is cool, innocent and enthusiastic. The Owl is very talkative and wise. Cristopher Robin is a caring, sweet and friendly little boy - and he's always available for his friends and helps them whenever they need. There's a music video (2:34) by Carly Simon, who pulls out her acoustic guitar to give a stripped down performance of the "Winnie the Pooh" theme. It's a nice take on the song and the video, which mixes live-action and animation, is nicely made as well. After that is a 2-minute sing-along for an extended version of "The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers", comprised of animation from the '80s Pooh TV series and featuring subtitles for most (though frustratingly not all) of the song. Inside the case is an insert that provides the chapter index (and breaks it down by each featurette) and advertises upcoming Playhouse Disney DVD releases. Miscellaneous: " Luv-a-bye" • " Playtime Song" • " Learning Song" • " Friendship Song" • " Snug as a Bear Can Be" • " The Scrapbook Song" • " Pooh for President"

Side guide

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh' is important. The film -- a collection of featurettes -- is a cherished production in Disney's illustrious vault, not just because it introduced the world to the animated versions of A. A. Milne's lovable characters, but also because this was one of the last productions that Walt Disney himself influenced before his untimely death in 1966.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix • Stuber • The Art of Racing in the Rain • Ad Astra • Ford v Ferrari • Underwater • The Call of the Wild • The Creator • The New Mutants • Free Guy • West Side Story • Death on the Nile • Avatar: The Way of Water • A Haunting in Venice The film was released on Blu Ray VHS Again in 2012. it includes Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore, a Pete's Dragon DVD Trailer, 10 The Mini Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Episodes, and the music video for the 2011 version of the Winnie the Pooh Theme Song. Winnie the Pooh is a bear with little brain but he's funny, cute and adorable. He looks more like a doll. You know, like one of those Teddy Bears most children have or had once.Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo (2004) • Sing Along Songs: Sing a Song with Pooh Bear and Piglet Too (2003) Welcome to Pooh Corner: " Welcome to Pooh Corner Theme Song" • " Try a Little Something New" • " The Right Side" • " Yes, I Can" • " You're the Only You" • " I Hum to Myself" • " Please and Thank You" • " Responsible Persons " • " You're the One and Only One" • " Welcome to Pooh Corner Ending Theme"

This easy-going innocence brings Pooh closer to childhood than any other Disney film. An interrogation of the youthful imagination, the film connects to the most enduring hope of our formative years: that all is right in the world. This is complemented by animation that presents a bright and sunny landscape populated by characters colorful in both appearance and personality. Also effective to this end are the voices that are perfectly matched with each character to make them instantly lovable. The many songs written for the featurettes by the legendary Sherman Brothers emulate Winnie the Pooh's instantly appealing, carefree effervescence. The resulting warmth of all this gives the movie tremendous power. The VHS & Blu-ray version was released as a 35th anniversary special edition for the first time on August 27, 2013. It includes a 1983 animated short Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore, 5 Mini Adventures of Winnie the Pooh segments, and the music video performed by Carly Simon and it does not include a digital copy. Jim Cummings, Frankie J. Galasso, Steve Schatzberg, Ken Sansom, Brad Garrett, Tress MacNeille, Andre Stojka, Nikita Hopkins and Michael Gough dub their voices. These 3 shorts are named "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree", "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day" and "Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too!". The movie includes 2 live-action segments (a small one at the beginning and a minor one at the end). The 25th anniversary edition DVD includes, among other bonus features, "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: The Story Behind the Masterpiece", which documents the history of the books and their initial film adaptations. It also features interviews with animators Ollie Johnston, Frank Thomas, and Burny Mattinson, as well as the Sherman Brothers, Paul Winchell, and others. Digital Media FX reviewer Shannon Muir stated that the audio and video quality of the film on this DVD was very high.
