About this deal

Sunglasses or ski goggles – There is no question that things tend to get brighter in the mountains. Hence, when the sun is out and everything is sparkling around, you need to have some kind of eye protection. And, ski goggles are the right gear for Après-Ski. So, don’t forget to have them. Many resorts in France and Austria are geared up for piste parties, where its not uncommon to see mountain goers dancing on the tables after a long day on the slopes, followed by late night in a club – and a sore head the next day! The La Folie Douce aprés ski venues can be found across Europe. Image: @foliedoucevaldisere

St Anton is renowned as the best in Austria but it is perhaps too popular and the famous piste-side bars are uncomfortably jammed to overflowing with plastered Brits, Dutch and Germans. It has fantastic off-piste routes like the Valluga and brings a lot of the best skiers in the world to party at the noisiest après ski bars in Austria.

Best Après Ski Holidays

As a lot of the après-ski bars are outdoors, it’s also a good idea to bring sunglasses and a hat – not only does it keep you warm but also covers up your helmet hair! Spare shoes – Being a skier, you should think about having some comfortable footwear. At the end of a tiring session, nothing appears more soothing than sliding off the ski boots. That’s the reason why having a pair of shoes helps to keep your feet warm and relieve you from pains or aches that you have encountered while you are on snow. A nice pair of boots can make your dance moves fine as well. Of course you can wear the ski boots, but for comfort we recomend changing shoes if you are planning to be at the after ski a long time. You will probably spend enough time in your ski boots when skiing during the days. In the Après-world, France has almost taken the reigns from Austria with the proliferation of Folie Douce like establishments popping up everywhere. The newest addition is in Avoriaz 1800, standing out with its loud music on the slopes but still blending in with the resorts dynamic architecture. Other great places are the 360° Bar in Val Thorens, the Pano Bar in Les Deux Alpes, and especially Cocoricos in Val d’Isére. 1. Val Thorens, France The highest party town in the Alps

St Anton (Austria) – The resort to popularise table dancing; famous for steins of beer, Jägermeister and oompah parties till the early morning. Headband – Adding a headband to your outfit is the final touch you can give to your Après-Ski party. Headbands keep away the sweat off your brows and hair.

Site Customisation

For most skiers, Après-Ski begins in the late-afternoon and goes until it starts to get dark around 7pm. Not all après activities involve drinking either – you could try sledging down one of the resorts toboggan runs or enjoy a post-ski pampering in a hillside spa. When does Après-ski start?
