About this deal

Intrigued, Holmes and Watson find themselves swiftly drawn into a series of puzzling and sinister events, stretching from the gas-lit streets of London to the teeming criminal underworld of Boston and the mysterious ‘House of Silk’ . Like the stories of Conan Doyle, there are plenty of clues scattered around, and the eagle-eyed reader may be able to piece together some of the solution. Holmes finds himself framed for murder, and Watson has to find a way to spring him before they can solve the case. Holmes did not take ill after his food was poisoned at dinner time nor at breakfast but then ‘took ill’ after being poisoned at 11 am during morning tea.

We will definitely look at coming back in the future, we were very well looked after so a big thank you to you and your team as well. It is good to have such a distinguished narrator as Derek Jacobi, a pleasure to hear and who even managed to make Holmes a fraction more likeable. The first time I saw the Sherlock Holmes movie starring Rob ert Downey Jnr I hated it because it wasn’t the Sherlock Holmes I remember. During their discussion of the stolen paintings Wiggins enters, announcing seen the man entering a cheap hotel in Bermondsey, and that he had posted Ross to watch him. The House of Silk begins with Carstairs, the co-owner and operator of an art gallery, requesting that Holmes investigates a mysterious stranger who he believes is an American gangster seeking revenge after an investigation into stolen paintings results in his brother being killed in a shootout.

The characters are, as Conan Doyle himself would have them, as close to cliché as good writing allows. He is also filled with remorse for how he had recorded the ends of stories, never thinking about the consequences for the villains Holmes had apprehended? I think AH has managed to do an excellent job of telling this story in a fashion that manages to conjure up the style of Arthur Conan Doyle. He begs Holmes for help, telling the unnerving story of a scar-faced man with piercing eyes who has stalked him in recent weeks.Horowitz is obviously very passionate about the man, and it shows through in his work: probably one of the reasons why the Conan Doyle estate have approved this one out of all the Holmes novels and stories that have appeared over the course of the last hundred years or so. The House of Silk is a Sherlock Holmes novel written by British author Anthony Horowitz, published in 2011. An original thriller, Magpie Murders was published last year and got some of the best reviews I've had.

Destined to become an instant classic, The House of Silk brings Sherlock Holmes back with all the nuance, pacing, and almost superhuman powers of analysis and deduction that made him the world's greatest detective, in a case depicting events too shocking, too monstrous to ever appear in print. Similarly, Watson now considers the fate of the criminals he and Holmes brought to justice and imagines their fear of execution. As someone who has read more than his fair share of second-rate Holmes spin offs, I can definitely recommend this one, Stu. A person with connections such as Holmes should have at least been able to access a lawyer, especially when he had his first appearance in court, but Holmes was not allowed to speak at his own hearing nor did he have legal representation. All of the money raised from these events fund our vital work protecting and saving young lives in war zones. Inspired by self-confident, strong and unique women, House of Silk was founded in Istanbul by Nilay Kum. I can’t really elaborate on the plot in this review because that would completely ruin the story and I don’t want to give away any spoilers so if you like Holmes and Watson and fancy spending a bit of time in their company again then what you waiting for?
