About this deal

All told, that’s 11 channels of amplification taking up 11U of space on my rack, for 10 items needing power. The bulk of this amp is the two massive toroidal transformers upfront, and then the 8 massive amplifier boards that each power two channels. They seem to do the same thing, not sure if there's any difference other than the physical design of the box?

The range of attractive offers for walls, floors and patios is rounded out by high-quality accessories and effective cleaning and maintenance products. I downloaded the manual and I *think* this amp has to be integrated with a Crestron system as it has some special molex connectors and the manual shows how to program it with Crestron controllers. If you don't like our cookies, you can customize the content, but our basic recipe always remains the same. They fit well into the room and I have binding posts nearby with speaker cables snaking down to the basment AV rack, giving the setup a very clean look with no other visible equipment besides the speakers. Through experimentation I found that once the Cresnet board gets power it takes 3-5 seconds for the override button to activate.

The balanced connections from the XMC-1 were mostly immune to this issue thankfully, though I did have issues with the XPA-5. The Emotiva XPA-5 had an odd quirk when it powered on — it would create an audible hiss on all the boards that would quickly dissapate after 2-3 seconds, but it was still less than ideal. Pretty soon you will be wanting to try out the 20x60mm, which is, also, smaller and lighter than the 20x80mm's.

To connect the switch I de-soldered the ground pin from the left RCA input and put the ground connection in the same circuit board hold with it and re-soldered it and connected the other end to the switch. I'm looking to do the exact same thing as posted in this thread - bridge 10 of the channels to create a 5x200W output for the mains and use the other 6 for 2 rear surround and 4 Atmos speakers. Incidentally on another winter early morning trip to the observatory when I came out and locked up there was a large white hare sitting upright on this granite rock about ten feet from me. The override button is a nice workaround if you don’t have a full Crestron install, but it’s necessary to hit that button any time the Cresnet power source resets. The smaller exit pupil, central focus and lighter weight will give them the advantage for daytime use where these features will either not be a problem (exit pupil) or will be advantages. The Moon looked good earlier when looked at briefly, lots of detail but some small limb false colour. As far as the OPTICS go, these were very sharp almost to the edges of the FOV but I would have to say that the Pentax PCF WP II's have a flatter FOV towards the edges, but not in a hugely noticable way. larger exit pupil and wider field as compared to the20x60's were all advantages in favor of the 16x60's.

Some flaring on Venus and bit of color on the edge of the moon if your eye isn’t in the exact right spot. This posting is astronomical because I did look at Lepus the Hare lurking under Orion during the night. I finally just removed the surround channels from the equation, and confirmed that the left + center + right speakers were dead silent — no interference to be had. It conveniently can be broken down into the eight output modules (which each have onboard rectifier and caps) and the two transformers. Note - the Fujinon's do have a 4 degree field (apparent - 66 degrees vs the apparent 45 degree field in the Pentax).Use that to bridge whatever channel pairs you desire without having to do too surgery on the amp boards. I tried desparately connecting that ground lead to everything else in the AV rack too, hoping to strike the magical combination of grounding, but to no avail. I wouldn't mind balanced inputs and input gain controls, but all things considered, rolled into the second hand pricing, great deal, particularly if you wanted an amplifier around which to run a fully active audiophile system. So if I can figure out a way to connect an ESP8266 to the Cresnet IO on the Crestron Amp, and get all the commands right, I could unlock the full potential of this amp!

Curious if this Henry Matchbox model will work for what you described, or will only the newer Matchbox HD work? One might be easier to do than the other or better lend it's self to being switchable between stereo and bridged mono. The relay control and output monitoring board was also removed which simplifies things and gives more space. My plan is to perform surgery on the amp to split it into two 8 channels amps, and each of these will certainly be much easier to lift! Either way, I would need another 4 channels of amplification if/when I wanted to make the jump to Atmos.

My second session with the 16x60's was at 2:30am till 3:05 am and I brought out the tripod this time for a steadier view. Furthermore Ross surprisingly to me made some of their own glass and shall we say the quality 'varied', i. The completely out of focus image on the 3 inch screen is examined and I centre the completely out of focus Moon, and wait for the focus confirmation bleep and press the button. The downside is that if you lose the 24VDC power, you will have to push the Override button again, so make sure it's accessible.
